Bad batch of ecopure?

Anyone heard how Noah's QC inspection of the Rich cauldrons turned out?

Rob

Personally, I'm having a hard time seeing what this will accomplish, other than adding the price of a round-trip UK ticket to InnoVapor's operating expenses. Makes me wonder whether this is why InnoVapor just discontinued their 15%- and 20%-off coupons. :|

I mean, is Noah expecting to inspect the facility, say "oh, here's your problem," and point out that the QUALITY switch on the Rich vat is currently set to CRAPPY?

Yes! After talking with Mark yesterday, I can say that I'm pretty confident of two things:

1) The consistency issues with ECOpure (not just the "bad" batches, but Rich that looks and tastes like Regular, Regular that looks and tastes like Mild, etc.) are not my imagination.

2) Within maybe a few months, there will be a much more consistent supply of ECOpure available.

Things are being straightened out, but it will take time.

In the meantime, John from Intellicig was kind enough to send me lots of ECOpure in various flavours direct from the UK, and it's all lovely. I must say, all speed bumps aside, both InnoVapor and Intellicig have bent over backwards to try to make things right, each company in its own way.

I got three Ecopure Rich 3ml samplers from IV with my 510 order and thought they tasted horrible. Sort of a mediciney burnt sugar taste. I just chalked it up to being a flavor that wasn't my cup of tea, but now I'm wondering if maybe I got some from a bad batch, too.

Absolutely, no doubt about it. Rich is supposed to be sweet and sort of toasted-marshmallowy, not even a hint of medicine or chemical taste. I guarantee you got some from the same batch I got. Now that I've got the replacements, Rich is actually one of my favourite flavours.

Now I'm mystified. Mine, bought a few months ago, is just a pretty realistic tobacco taste, not with caramel or nut flavors like the Chinese imitations of Western cigarette brands.

No flavor at all just vaper to exhale? Have 3 sample bottles(3ml) and a 15ML have tried out of 2 small ones and the large and Im just not getting any flavor? ANy ideas?

That's interesting, the Gold I got in my InnoVapor shipment with the bad Rich is also almost flavourless, and I never even thought about it until you mentioned this. I've since gotten Gold (Regular, they call it) direct from Intellicig, and it's not the same at all. In fact, the Gold I got from InnoVapor seems possibly even milder than the Intellicig Mild.

I just tasted them, right on the tongue (I use zero-nic), and yes, my old InnoVapor Gold tastes almost just like the Intellicig Mild. My Intellicig Regular tastes much stronger. This lack of consistency among labeled flavours is really getting frustrating.

Another thing, are you using a 510? Because in my 510, that Gold blanches right out, I can barely taste it at all. In my 306a and L88b equipment it's very mild, but better. In my (and others') experience, the 510 tends to weaken and/or scorch flavours, which is one reason I really don't like it very much.

I wish I had your taste buds! I thought it was intended to be a tobacco flavour, but I'm not getting that much at all—every so often I'll get a quick but fleeting impression of tobacco, but it's more of a hint or oblique reference, nothing more. Mostly I just get the sweet, sort of roasted sugar flavour.

As far as I can make out, the only ingredients in Rich are glycerol, water, nicotine, and ethyl maltol. They definitely don't use any tobacco-derived ingredients in it, and none of the ECOpure tastes anywhere close to tobacco compared to the tobacco-derived cartridges that came with one of my starter kits.

Personally, I'm still looking for a tobacco-flavoured e-liquid that uses no tobacco ingredients but actually tastes to me anything like tobacco. No luck yet. I think Johnson Creek JC Original and Tennesse Cured come the closest, but it's still not satisfying.

Just an update on my predicament. I said I'd recieved 3 samplers, but I'd only tried one before writing them off. It never occurred to me that there might have been a bad batch. Well, I tried a different bottle, and it's a totally different flavor. A good one at that. In fact, if this is how Ecopure Rich is supposed to taste, I'll gladly order a full sized bottle.

I sure am glad I found this thread!

EDIT: To clarify, the taste I'm getting is that light hint of toasted marshmallow with an equally light sweetness. I mentioned the burnt sugar taste of the first bottle, and the more I think about it, yeah, it's just like what an overly toasted (read: burnt) marshmallow tastes like, with a slight chemical undertone. Probably someone got some numbers mixed up in the formula..
