It has the smell of a battery, I've always noticed every battery's smell but this one is very strong. It has smelled that way since I bought it but I didn't give it much thought until recently..I'll definitely buy a new one then, thanks for the input guys

What is it you think you are Smelling.
Different composition batteries WILL have distinctly different chemical odors, that might be detected. They should Not smell the same(or at all) Are you sure you are not smelling the covering? o_O

Do you notice this smell in use or while sniffing the battery?

Also, I don't smell it unless I actually take the door off and smell it. If the door is on, I can't smell it.

Don't use the mod to charge, I know it seems easier but it's not worth the savings, you literally have no idea at what range you are charging @ nor do you know what voltage it's stopping @ .......

Strangely, I know exactly what he means. Every time I charge NiMH batteries, they have the NiMH battery smell. It's pretty distinctive, and it doesn't matter which charger I charge them in, or which brand I charge. It's there.

I've never noticed this with lithium batteries, so I'm with the others, here. Discard and buy new ones immediately, and charge externally in a good charger (Xtar, Efest, or Nitecore). A sharp, chemical odor means the battery is venting, which could mean the vent is defective, the battery has vented previously, or it has a puncture. In any case, it's not safe to use any longer.
