bad switch?

Hi everyone!

A few days ago, I bought a Joye 510 from one of our suppliers here at ECF, and before I go to the supplier about the problem, I want to see if it is a simple problem that could easily be fixed.

I have narrowed the problem down to the button because it does it with both the atomizers I received. My other manual and the USB pt works like a charm every time.

Any case; when I have the atomizer connected, I can press the button gently like it's supposed to be and the LED comes on as normal. No vapor is produced though. I thought it was the charge, so I put it on charge and let it go until I got a green light on the charger. Put it all back together, and BAM... just the LED lights up, no vapor. I pressed the button a little harder and it started to work. hit and miss, but it was starting.

Any ideas? The vendor is a forum supplier, I just want to make sure it's not something I'm overlooking or can easily fix before I go to them for a replacement.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

I just got my 510 mega starter kit today and it works like a charm.

i'm new to this myself but it sounds to me like you might be having a problem with connection between the battery and atty.

have a play with the connection and see how it turns out.

It sounds like it could be numerous different things....

It could be the switch/button having issues making a connection to the atty connector. It could be the atty not seating into the atty connector on the battery all the way, hence making a loose or not at all connection. It could even be the battery inside the battery shell that is going bad.

Check that the atty connector end on the battery is clean and free of any kind of dirt. Since you had done most of the work swapping batteries and attys, and ruled it down to that particular battery, thats good.

Other than trying to clean that atty connection a bit, if that doesn't work, you will need to get a replacement from the vendor. If you need to get in touch with the vendor you bought it from, tell them that what you did, tried cleaning it, swapped attys/swapped batteries, etc.

Yep!!.....I wouldn't worry so much about contacting the vendor for a replacement...especially if they are listed here!

Customer service is bountiful here for the most part!

Look inside the threaded end of your atty and see if the post inside looks too deep. If it is, you may need to gently work it down using a tooth pick or a pair of tweezers. Do not turn the post as you may break a wire inside. I have this problem with my DSE901 when I use a vapor king battery. Be carefull not to pull the post down too far. The head of the post should be no higher than the third or fourth thread in.

I myself have run into this problem a couple of times. One I tried to fix. I took off the button and tried to move the button under the cap I took off. Sometimes when these are made, the little switch inside isn't lined up with the button or it was pushed too hard downward by the manufacturer and thus this will lead to you pushing harder than normal for the atty to get any curreent from the battery. There really isn't anything you can do, unless you have the correct tooling, very, very fine tooling (I have these as I used to be an assembler in electronics) My suggestion is to return it to the supplier you got it from, or at least let them know its bad and get it replaced..

I'm leaning more towards this answer. The post not being down far enough wouldn't account for the pressure on the button needed to make it vape. I'm sending the vendor an email. Thanks for the help!

EDIT: also, both atties work on both the other battery and my passthrough.
