I've been using riva batteries for months now, and I got tired of 510 atties and tried using 801s with an adapter. Now at first they were great, I think the taste was a lot better.

Anytime I've ever tried cleaning them when they started getting a bit funky like my old 510s, they would perform badly or stop working completely after. When they don't taste bad, my atomizer simply tastes bland and boring. The unpleasant flavor is not like a burnt one, but just "off" and definitely something I want to get rid of.

I almost bought a pack of camels the other day, to tell the truth I don't know how I didn't. It's just been so long since I enjoyed the ecig, and it's been a pain in the ... trying to deal with the leaking.

Any tips on making these things work? Maybe just a supplier with a better quality 801 atty? Hell, does anyone want to suggest a different set up?

Much thanks,
-Derik

I don't use 801's because in my experience they get clogged up quick and they are so wide on the mouth. Cleaning with any of the methods other than just blowing them out will tend to change the taste a little ... there's not much more you can do.

if the new ones were working good at first, then you have the right set up... but there are different ways to go with the resistance; LR (1.5 to 2.0 Ohm... each will be different).

I prefer 901 attys... i would suggest resistance between 1.8 and 2.0 myself, for the Riva. if you like the taste of the 801, the 901 is like in between the 510 and 801... lots of vapor and flavor ... 510 has more throat hit, 801 has less, 901 is in between.
