Bad taste with Kayfun. Help.

I have a kayfun Lite Plus and no matter how much or how little cotton I use, I get this bad taste. It's not a burnt taste but some kind of linen taste. I'm building with 28g kanthal at 1.2 ohms. Here is the cotton I'm using.

About the only thing I haven't tried is boiling the cotton however most of the threads I've read say you don't have to boil organic cotton. One person on reddit suggested it would make the cotton worse.

I use Shiseido pads. They had a very pronounced cotton taste to me out of the bag, so I boiled them for 20 minutes in distilled water and have never tasted it since.

I recommend you boil a small batch and see if it helps.

drench it in juice during wicking. Use less. drench it again when the chimney base is on. fill it and prime puff it.

Odd. I have used that exact brand of cotton on a Kayfun for many months. At first I could taste some cotton, so I tried boiling it. Then a few weeks later I tested unboiled again and there was no cotton taste. I realized that I was using too much cotton on my first attempts, and never boiled it again. No break in period, no taste even on initial drags. So I would suggest playing around some more with wick density

I only taste cotton when I vape dry, most often this is from having too much or too little cotton in the coil and NOT waiting for the cotton to absorb some fluid. That takes a few minutes, on a new wick. Try to vape too soon you burn the cotton and it never works properly.
