Just thought I would stop by this thread. And I asked my doctor about the flouride in toothpaste and she said that we get enough from water and that baking soda was the best alternative. But before I had my procedure done 3 weeks ago. I did take the time to get 3 different dental opinions. So I went to the dentisit who did all the shoddy work, took a look and said wow I did this work didn't I? Maybe that's why this is my last day on the job. Went to a second dentist and she said there is no way to save your teeth but I can do a full set of implants for $60,000. So I did what my good dentist recomended which was full dentures top and bottom and two implants to hold the bottom denture. I had to go in a week later to have the upper bone shaved so the top denture sat right, but the infection is gone and this is the best I've felt in years. And since I didn't use insurance or a discount plan, I paid cash and he took the price for everything down by half. It pays to ask for a discount. Also had to have a bonegraft done in the whole that the infection created. I will be glad when I get the hang of dentures and can eat and speak right again because this liquid/mushy soft diet isn't cutting it. I wouldn' t wish this on anyone. As for sensodyne while using it my gums were always horrible, but since using paste with xylitol my gums and breath is great for hours and hours.

I don't make it to this forum much but have posted on dental threads in the past. I too have had dental issues since childhood; mostly cavities. I brush/floss regularly and the problems started when I didn't go to the dentist for 10 yrs. I thought, my teeth don't hurt, no problem. Well... wrong, if I could undo that I would. When I finally went back after yrs. I had more cavities and needed much work done in the back.

Naturally, when I started vaping I thought it may be the culprit but the problems were already there. I think the OP answered his own question when he posted:

My teeth have been horrible most of my life. Even as a child they would crumble no matter how many times I brushed.

Sure, vaping can dry the mouth out, but w/ some of the products mentioned and regular trips to the dentist I think that can be mostly alleviated.

By the way, there was a vaping dentist or two on here a while back.
