Now that I no longer have my dial settings mixed up (ahem) I have been attempting to try out all my gear at various voltages and have a carto that was really hard to screw on. It occurred to me screwing it down might be dangerous but I did it anyway. Then, of course, instead of screwing out it started to spin the whole connector. I managed to get it out by holding the connector with some needlenose pliers and put an atty back on hoping it still worked--but nothing. Tried diff atty, swapped batts, nothing. I was so bummed. Opened a MV ticket even though my warranty up today (well ordered on 10/16, had 3 days later) and wasn't sure if this would be considered "user abuse" or not (as it's just another a 510 carto seemingly the same as all my others...)

Then lo and behold it decided to start working again two hours later. As far as I can tell it's the same as it was. Though now of course my connector is kind of loose. Should I apply more glue or what?

I messed my 1st unit up doing about the samething. What's going to happen is you're going to spin it and its going to rip one of the soldered wires from the connector. You need to use epoxy and apply a little around the top outside of the connector and be very careful not to get it into the threads or the little cut outs where you draw the air through. Then open it up and put some epoxy inside around the wires and the connector. You'll need to do this in order to keep it from being broke. Ya don't wanna really use hot glue cause it'll soften up as the connector heats up..

Your honesty is to be commended but this is a user abuse issue and you'll have to fix it on your own. Its not that big of a deal really. And worse comes to worse buy another one and use that as an emergency back up..
Good Luck

Live and learn. Yes I guess it is technically abuse but it is a "510 carto" and be nice if the connector was a tad more secure. Though, at the same time, this is hardly a $200 Provari. Though I guess am also a but more irked about it than perhaps I should be as my MV 3.7v AA box's switch just up and died after only a month. So not the greatest luck as yet.

I don't get why this one carto has a slightly wider circumference. Crappy QC I guess.

Thanks for letting me know how to hopefully fix.

I had my connector come loose today after about 3 weeks of use.I've got some boxes I've built over 2 years ago and all the connectors and wires are as solid as the day I made them,(of course I used glue around the connectors).I hope they start securing the connectors better. That being said,it"s hard to get mad for the price of these boxes,
