My chest hurt when I first started. I figured either I would have a heart attack or it would go away. It went away. Several others have commented on the same thing. Listen to your body, if it's serious, seek medical help. If it's not, look into VG juices if PG doesn't agree with you.

There's nothing wrong switching over gradually. You don't have to go from smoking to vaping in 6.2 seconds. It does take some time to get used to.

I quit analogs 4 years ago, but was addicted to nicotrol inhalers, then I tried an ecig. I can't blame quitting cigs for chest issues. I used Blu for a year, no problem, driped with it too..no problem. Using same juice with eGo now, chest hurts like crazy & my smokers hack is back...that was gone 2 weeks after I quit. This has all happened within the last 2 weeks. I am on a pretty low nic level, around 8-10ish. As far as water..I drank so much I was going to the bathroom every 10 minutes, yeah I might have felt a bit better, but really? I can't go back to cigs..so I'm really bummed...am going to try all PG & all VG, but I don't know...crossing fingers I don't have to put up a for sale post!

I didn't switch over immediately either. It took me about two weeks after I got mine that I realized that if I could make it through an eleven hours shift at work with only vaping then I could make it forever. Now, I'm on day 17. I'm just saying it takes some getting used to, but you will get used to it if you give it a chance. Good luck!!

There is a good possibility that you are having an allergic reaction to PG. This is a common side effect. Please try some juices that are higher in VG. Yes, you will experience withdrawal from analogs but this is normal. You are actually withdrawing from all the other crap in analogs other than nicotins. People don't realize that we become dependant upon the other junk as well. The withdrawal will only last a few days and then pass as it leaves your body.

I started with PG juice first and had no problems for the first month or so. Then I found a flavor I loved. A day later I was wheezing and felt chest pressure that I never felt in 40 years of smoking 2 PAD. The flavor I loved was 50/50 PG/VG. It's the VG that bothers me. Most folks talk about PG being a culprit but I'm one of the few who cannot take the VG.

I'm so hoping this is my issue! One of my juices is 50/50...I got samples of all pg & all vg so I can try & figure it out..

What nicotine were you using and how much were you vaping? Nicotine is a skin irritant. If you vape medium or especially high nicotine in 100% PG you need to not overdo it. And in general, regardless of the juice base, you cannot go wild and start vaping too much because you can get too much nicotine and that can be bad for blood pressure, cause rapid or irregular heartbeat, headache and more.

Did you take it out of your mouth at all in the 5 hours? Sounds like way too much nicotine. My neighbor did the same thing. You can't smoke it like an analog...it's not going to burn down and burn away....lol. Pace yourself and get your nicotine level adjusted so you are comfortable. I hope some veterans sound off on this, my opinion is you over did it.

PG is the one that lets through the most of nicotine's TH and irritation. My tongue gets sore vaping even 18mg in 100% PG. SOme people get sore throat, mouth sores, even sore lungs. VG buffers the irritation. It is unusual for anyone to be sensitive to VG itself. However some VG juice makers add ingredients for fake TH into VG juices and those can be irritating. For most people it seems like 30% VG is enough to get rid of the irritation part.

Re vaping 24mg - yes that's fine if you are vaping about 2 packs worth of drags. If you are vaping constantly then that would be a lot more drags than you used to smoke and it may be too much. If you get headache, light headed, rapid or irregular heartbeat, cold extremities - can all be signs of too much nic.

Well I'm glad to see a thread that handles the more serious side of vaping and not just the flavor of the week.
I too feel a bit of the chest tightness as I mentioned in another thread. I'll have to buy some pure VG suggested to see if it helps. My GF bought the stuff at the mall and it gave her headaches and made her nauseous, turns out they gave her 24mg of nic and didn't really educate her about the options. Me thinks they just wanted to juice her up with as much as the addictive stuff as possible and wait for her to come back for more $25 30ml bottles. Guess the first taste isn't always free.

Well beachman, I hope you feel better and give it another go. Remember, cigarettes are the devil.

Same happened to me, made a post in the health section.

Now I was vaping on a 60/40 liquid, got huge chest pains. I followed some recommendation and drank allot of water. Chest pains went away for 1 day or so. Then they came back but were less intense. Decide to try only VG liquid... and turns out the chest pains were really bad on that. So I stopped the ecigs for 2 days. The chest pains were not as present but still there a bit.

Now I am on a 100% PG liquid, drinking allot of water and I have no chest pains at all, at least for the last few days. I thin my pains were a combination of both a VG allergy and cig withdrawal. But I will be testing out only vg or vg/pg mixes in the next few weeks to see if it wasn't only withdrawal.

Nicotine level may also be a factor, but wasn't for me. When I went all Vg, I was actually just vaping Vg. No flavorings, no nicotine... just to see if it was because of it. And yeah my pains were pretty bad that day.

The best thing for you is to try different combinations and to see what works. I would also recommend 1 day of not vaping or smoking between each combination try, just to be sure. If all else fails I hope you won't go back to analogs and maybe try another alternative ;)
