:( Okay, so I have been vaping for a week now. I have one bottle of 18mg nic, most are 12, and two are 6mg. I can deal with the 6mg VG, and it doesn't give me the sore throat, like the 50/50 juices do. But the max VG has maybe 10% taste. I like the taste of liquids, and the vapor. (I am not a vapor freak, I don't need massive clouds of vapor) I chose the max VG because I wanted to see if it gave me a sore throat. I found because it has no taste, I am vaping it like a fiend. I hear you can get flavor shots, but how many do you need, if you use max VG? I think I have wasted my money on two of these juices I bought yesterday, which is really depressing. I think at this point, I think the 12mg nic is best for me. Now and then the 6mg is good, but if it had taste, I would like it much better. The VG has no throat hit. I don't need a strong throat hit. Any recommendations? Also, do they charge you extra for extra flavor shots?

No. I bought two house blends from a brick and mortar store. The problem is, it is an hour away. I don't want to drive all the way back, just to get something done about it. I am very disappointed. The juice is very smooth though. It does not bother my throat. There is no throat hit, and only noticeable taste after you haven't vaped for a while. That goes away after two drags on it. The house blend sample tasted totally different. I knew max VG would cut the taste somewhat, but no taste?

You didn't mention the vendor - is it Mount Baker by any chance?

I thought max VG would cut the flavor, but still have taste, and maybe a sweeter taste, and more vapor. Well, you live and learn. I guess I need a few flavor shots, but I have no idea how many.

Understand, the level of nicotine in a juice is not going to have that much impact on its flavor. The reason your max vg juice barely has any flavor is because it's max vg. Pg=flavor, vg=vapor.

Finding a liquid you like, at a price you can afford and in a strength that works for you is the most 'difficult' part of vaping. Out of the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of dollars I have spent on e-liquid, I have liked and re-purchased maybe 10% of them.

One thing you can do to improve any liquids you may come across is to have a bottle of pure menthol e-liquid or flavoring, a bottle of sweetener like (Ethyl Maltol) and some plain VG on hand. You can add these to some e-liquids that are unvapeable and maybe make something you can vape.

You can add flavor shots with some vendors, and most will charge extra for this. It's unfortunate that the answer to your issue is more trial and error, but that pretty much is the answer. Perhaps going to a 20/80 PG/VG mix will be beneficial to you. Have a word with them at your vape shop, maybe they'd be willing to sell you the flavor base that you can add to the liquid you already bought.

If your B&M offers a juice bar you can maybe try different ratios before you leave the store.

Finally, I know it's a hassle, but honestly this is the main reason why I DIY most of my e-liquid now. It's less expensive and I can adjust the flavors, ratios and strengths at will to suit my equipment and even my mood.

The owner told me no steeping was required. He said it was perfect to vape, as soon as it was made. I thought steeping changed the flavor a bit. But if the flavor is virtually not noticeable, it would still make a difference?

Since the juice you bought was a house blend from the B&M, I would be curious as to how long it has steeped. Normally, the higher VG level of a juice, the more steeping time is required.

The only real thing you can do is wait and have it steep more. 100% VG juices take alot longer to steep since VG is horrible at mixing in with flavorings. I do wonder if its really 100% VG since most flavorings are made with PG.

I would never vape 100% VG except for like say cloud chasing.

Honestly the best thing you can do is get the same juice but try 20/80.

no sweetener is going to fix your juice. if its supposed to taste like um a fruit mix but it tastes like nothing then just making it sweeter will just make it taste like....sweet all over the place.

I don't do menthol. But where do you find these ingredients like the sweetener? I have some VG here, but it was not for vaping. I purchased it for something else. I have made some home made salves, and a batch of soap with a friend.

The post above is correct that if it doesn't taste like much now, adding sweetener will not really bring the flavor out - my point was mainly about making unvapable liquids palatable in general.

You can get it from many places, E Liquid & Juice Flavors | Electronic Cigarette Flavoring - Mt Baker Vapor is one. They have a large amount of pre-mixed flavoring there. I usually buy mine from All Flavors (Wizard Labs) - again, hundreds of flavors from many different vendors available.

It says max VG. I know some flavorings might have a little PG. The only reason I got the max VG is to try it. The tonsil area of my throat has been sore, and I assume it is from the PG. When I vape the max VG, my throat is fine. With 50/50 my throat was sore, not all of it, just the tonsil area. Today I picked up a 50/50 after the max VG. Instant sore throat there, when I took a couple of drags. I don't have any signs of allergy that I read about on here. I also heard the sore throat might go away. I do not have nausea, reflux, or anything like that. One of the max VG's was a regular house blend. The other was a premium house blend.

Mmmm. random question. what did they let you taste the house blends with? a tank? one of those carto style things?

I have tasted stuff from vape shops before and sometimes the juice you buy tastes less strong than the one in the store. I later figured out this is because of the fact that my tank back then was mediocre in flavor compared to those carto tank things they used.

It is ALSO possible that the shop is ripping you off and put less flavoring in the juice you bought.

Honestly I have been getting some throat issues with vaping lately too. I mostly get like sores and ..... I am probably going to up the VG to 60-70% and see if it fixes it.

but like I said. you should try their 20-80 blend.

so they said it's max VG? so that means that there is some PG in there(flavorings) mmmm. honestly try steeping it for a week. I have heard people buying max VG juices and it tasting HORRIBLE and then after a week or two it was just like it was intended. the more VG in the juice the harder it will be for the flavoring to mix properly.

a suggestion is to go back to the b and m and ask them to put in some more flavor..

Most of their stuff was in tanks to try out, bottom loading ones. The premium house brands were used with a dripper. I don't drip, but I tasted several of their premium house blends that way. They also had Boba's Bounty, and that was in a tank to try too. The owner was not there. But two guys were, and they were quite young. They had filled the whole store up with massive dripping vapor clouds. They weren't as helpful as the other store I went to. But I was there to try e juice. I mainly was interested in the Boba's Bounty, and one of their house blend tobacco flavors.

If it was the local store in my town, I could pop on over. The store I bought this from is an hour away. I may just end up mixing this stuff, with some other flavors, since it has no taste. That should help ease my throat issue too. Does this throat issue go away in time, or do I have to get more VG, and a little PG, with extra flavor shots?
