@JCinFLA & @BigPappa . . .

Okay YOU 2 . . . Remember this is the internet . . . So how the conversation is couched, the tonality of the conversation, innuendo actually meant or not meant, and the true meaning of certain word combinations are not necessarily translated as though you are having a conversation with each other in person - nor are they sometimes interpreted in the same way when written - as when it is actually heard . . . NOW both of Ya' take a real DEEP Breath . . . Realize this is all just a miscommunication & misunderstanding . . . Call a Truce . . . AND - Shake Hands . . . Just Sayin' . . .

For a number of years on this forum I'd see that "FTFY" and thought it meant F... This F... You. I was surprised people would post something that harsh that over a small typo. I am apparently acronym challenged!:)
I had to look it up. I'm not young, hip n groovy enough to be up on all this internet shorthand :D

    Somewhere between here and there
I don't know what makes you 2, and @DaveP, think that I don't know how to use RBAs and don't already use them myself. I'm very familiar with how little it costs to use them in comparison to drop-in coils. Nothing I've posted has indicated otherwise, yet people preach to me about using them, give me advice and instructions on how to use them, etc. So yep...you're preaching to the choir, but not in the way BigPappa meant it, I'm pretty sure.

ETA: Oh, in case it was about this: "For the most part, the inexpensive drop-in coils I've bought in quantity are for other people.....", meaning that I have stocked up on some drop-ins for myself, too....Yep, I am stocked up on drop-in coils for the tanks I love that don't have RBA heads available (ie. for my Zeniths, Zlides, etc.).

So basically you're saying you've been around the block once or twice?:D If I was going to make any assumption about you it would be that you probably have forgotten more about vaping than I know.

Let's go as simple as possible. A Kanthal build will last for months. Maybe ten cents worth of wire. A rewick costs maybe 5 cents and 5 minutes for fancy cotton. Get a bag of pads or a box of Rayon and you'd probably have to wick it twice, maybe 3 times to cost a penny. :)

Bottom line? For average vapers 20 bucks could last the rest of your life.

Where can I get Stapled Staggered Fused Claptons that will last a lifetime for only 20 bucks? I'm lucky to only get 6 months from 20 bucks worth. Some of us are spoiled ya know. ;)

I always find coils to be pretty,,, Chef a guy elsewhere made beautiful coils,, I think he should have had photos turned into wraps etc,,, wall art,,, a very nicely wicked coil actually makes me "hungry" for a vape,, change a coil earlier than planned. I haven't done much with those fancy coils,, gave most away,, i have fused clampton from China for 1 atomzer (Ammit),,. I must be doing something wrong,, it seems like a long ramp up,,, but fine as a single coil on Ammit. Anyway,, nice coil;)

It was one of my favorite mods ever until I noticed how bad the battery life was. I have four or five of them that sit in their boxes and probably won't ever be used again. I thought it was the perfect vapocalypse mod at first. Instead, it was a huge waste of money.

Great. :( I bought a few of them... have not used them yet but they felt great in the hand.

I wasn't going to get any coils at all for my stash as I much prefer wrapping my own. But when Ejuice Steals had that great sale going, I decided to get 50 STM coils since I got them for $5. I doubt if I'll ever use them except in a complete emergency. I really can't see a situation where I couldn't wrap a coil. Maybe if I broke my hand. Otherwise, it doesn't really require much hand strength or dexterity. I have plenty of coil tools, but what I use now is an Artistic Coil Winder that I've modified. That makes it a piece of cake.

I can wick a coil but for some reason I'm afraid to make my own coils. I have everything needed to start but something holds me back.

I felt exactly the same before I took the plunge. I bought pre wound coils after driving myself nuts with trying to figure out what kind to get for a month.

Many of us were like that. It’s not just you.

Once I tried though, and it worked!!! I was hooked. It’s not very expensive to get a few rolls to see what you like and play with it. It’s honestly easier than wicking.

I agree. Plus, to me, building is fun. Wicking is just wicking.

I am very new to making coils and find it easier for me to use the cotton sheets vs cotton bits. For fav Fuji RTA I now know exactly the size to cut for the diameter coil I am using. $5 each I bought 9 of them. Love dual coil vapor and flavor. I have almost 900 drop coils for various tanks thanks to good sales. I need more Zenith 1 ohm RDL coils though.
