@lasttango I have had 3 different Bartlebys...all of them did the same thing you're seeing...the very 1st one I bought came with the entire wiring/switch cavity completely filled with epoxy (even filled over the switch wiring)...the 2nd a little less filled and the 3rd had hardly any epoxy at all....all 3 reacted differently to the juice seeping in...(I drip btw)
Bartleby #1: I wore out the USB port and could no longer charge it (the switch on this one ended up getting soaked with juice too eventually and began shorting out on me)
Bartleby #2: the switch shorted out...I noticed after purchasing the 3rd one, that if I let it dry out, it would work fine for a few days..then short out again...lots of juice in and behind that epoxy filler
Bartleby #3: barely had any of the wiring covered at all...the 510 connector was mostly uncovered as well (it is the epoxy that is holding the atty connector in place).....this one lasted only a few weeks before the leaking juice loosened up the epoxy hold on the connector and then it would no longer hold the atty connector at all....and even my usb plug would come out wet too..
I loved these little things....but the quality continued slipping w/each order...a friend of mine ordered one after I had my 3rd one...his had even less epoxy filler that mine! That's when I decided to do something else...
....so I went to Radio Shack and purchased some switches, battery housing, wiring, soldering iron and busted out the working pieces from my 3 now dead Bartlebys...rewired/soldered and stuffed into a metal flashlight I had laying around....to hold me over until my Ali'i comes in.
