My analogs are rated as 0.5mg nicotine, 6mg tar. This, I imagine is per stick. This then equates to 10mg nicotine per pack. Is my logic correct that any e-juice I buy should be at the pack strength, or is there another formula method? (Sorry, if asked somewhere before, but I can't find.)
The rating applies to how much you absorb. Light cigarettes are extremely misleading since smokers adapt and get much more nicotine than the label would suggest.
The average smoker gets 1-2 mg of nicotine per cigarette.
The problem with any comparison is that it is impossible to determine how much nicotine in liquid is lost during vaporization and transport and how much is actually absorbed by the user.
I'm afraid at this point all we can do is guess. The formulas I've seen posted are ridiculous without the losses factored in.
The best thing you can do is to start low and move higher until your cravings are manageable. You can slowly reduce from that point onward.
Thanks. So I guess my first purchase should be at the lower end of the scale for available strengths. I just don't want to overdose... (With the 'climate' of things happening regarding laws/etc., I want to start a small stockpile.)
Another alternative is to buy low and high and then mix to find the right level for you. Once you do it's probably a good idea to stockpile liquid. I've definitely gone that route.
Another alternative when you are more comfortable is to buy unflavored high nic juice and then make your own. That way you control exactly what is in the liquid and how strong the liquid is (controlled by cutting). The DIY forums here have lots of recipes and information.
