Valkerie, be very careful with those batteries. In the last few days, I exchanged a few emails with Kendall about those specific batteries. Read this post to see what I found out, (I don't feel like retyping it all again). http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nice-price-14500-protected-us.html#post834837

Thank you for the heads up. I have a box mod and the battery that came with it seem to be defective, so I tossed it. Not happy about something than can explode being that close to my head and hands. Not as much as I vape.

I have the ones from DX and they are a tight fit in the nicostick. The way I worked around it was to just trim back the spring with cutting pliers. Now they fit nice and snug.
I did however buy some of the black and gold labled versions from DX and they are not so snug. Seems like the blues ones are slightly longer.

I have 2 "protected" 14500's from Battery Junction which fit in a box mod I bought from a regular modder at ecf. I also bought 2 Protected 14500 from Dealextreme which eventually came; and after charging them, I discovered that they are 1 or 2 millimeters too long to fit in the box mod. I absolutely can not get them forced into the box. The blue covering on the batteries is identical and says Exactly the same thing, saying that they are protected against over charging and under discharging, word for word.

Now, I am beginning to have second thoughts about the batteries that fit after reading commentary on 14500 "protected" batteries here at ecf.

I don't want to use unsafe batteries, but I love using my box mod. Suggestions? Thanks to all who respond.

Thanks for replying. I thought about cutting the spring back a bit and wondered if it would work and still make a good connection. I may try this.

Both of the sets of batteries I have are the blue ones from Trustfire and the outsides of the wrapping on both of them are the same.

The only difference is that one set is slightly longer, and the positive terminal on the longer set is smaller in diameter than it is on the other set. Does that description make sense to anyone?
