Batteries/opinions please

how often do you guys change batteries? I've heard 3/6/12 months. Couple of people even said theirs last a couple years.

I generally build 1.2 and only vape mtl @ 11 watts. Very very occasionally .5 @ 60 watt on drippers.

If they always complete and hold a full charge can I just use them until the charge drops.

When the batteries start to lose it's charge faster or not hold a charge at all. It could take 1 month or it could be 1 year. There is no set time period where I'll replace my batteries.

The theory is 300 cycles, but that depends on a lot of factors. You aren't pushing them like a sub-ohmer so they'll last longer. If you don't drain them all the way down (deep cycling) they will last longer. The rate you charge them will effect life span, slower they tend to last a little longer. The quality of the battery factors in.
So yeah, no one can really say.

In two years have not changed batteries yet. 4 of them in rotation. No subohming.

When I see a drop in performance I move them to the flashlight drawer.


Around 300 cycles sounds about right.

For my .02, I started with 12 Sony VTC4's 10 months ago, and 2 of them have recently failed to hold charge. I take it that the rest of them are not far behind and so have ordered replacement Sony VTC5's. I vape at .7 ohm and go through 10-12 ml of juice a day using gennies on mechs. I'm not at all sure how many charge cycles the old batteries have been through, that's hard to keep track of given my work hours and the number of batteries, but apparently they have exhausted their useful life.

Lots of reports on battery wrapper discoloration like that, doesn't effect the batteries performance.

Its oxidation/discoloration on the bare metal underneath the wrapper.
Its common especially on Sony cells.

Its not a problem.
