I currently have 3 SafeCig (e Cig | Electric Cigarette | e Cigarette | thesafecig.com) batteries (model rn4081) and I have heard they aren't the best from the very helpful folks in the forum.

I also found out in the forum that refilling is a vastly cheaper and more effective than simply continuing to waste large sums of money on refill cartos. That being said I have about 50 used cartos and another 100 or so still sitting in refill packs i ordered before learning about e liquid.

I have already ordered some e liquid from Backwood Brews and I'm going to try refilling some of the used cartos I already have, but with as much as I use my e cig (pretty much constantly throughout the day I have 2 charging and one in use so I always have 1 at the ready) I think my batteries are starting to fail. I am beginning to have connectivity issues, and although I haven't noticed any decreased battery life, it could easily be because I constantly have one available for use since I swap them out.

What I'm looking for is a better long term option. These 4081s will do for now, but I would like a battery that will last. I am mainly looking for a battery with a longer lifespan (will last more charges) that is the same shape as a normal cig, obviously it will be bigger, but I don't want something really bulky. I don't want to press a button to have to use it. I like the shape of a regular cigarette because it's something I've got used to holding and I dislike the thought of changing because it's in my hand or my mouth pretty much all day long (I work from home so I have the freedom to vape all day long).

I'm willing to spend a little extra money to get what I'm looking for, because for something I use this much I feel it will be cheaper in the long run spending a little more on a quality product rather than having to purchase cheaper ones more often.

I have heard really good things about the Riva, and the 510 model, but I don't like the Riva's shape. The Joye510 looks good, except having to push a button, but I may not mind pushing a button if I knew the benefits of it though. Most of the time I find that I just keep the e cig in my mouth while i type and suck in, so having to push a button every time might get annoying.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Volt from Smokeless Image is probably your best bet. It's a bit longer than a normal cig but about the same diameter, it's available in automatic (no button), a range of colours, has a nice PCC kit, and the 78mm battery option is 330mAh, which will last you a lot longer between charges than the average cigarette-style E-cig (which is about 180mAh). I haven't tried the Volt yet but from all the reviews I'm seeing it's the vaping world's new little darling of small E-cigs.

Welcome Zav,

I used the SafeCig and returned it, didn't like their flavors (and too costly), am using Riva 510 & Joye 510 now. First, no matter the size of the batt (other than serious mods), the skinny & fat batts all have a 300 charge life cycle max, as in 300 recharges. Usually, they don't even last that long. The Joye510 skinny is only 180 mAh, lasts about 1-2 hour max, then, recharge. I used to run marathons to the charger, rotating 5 Joye 510 little batts.

When I first started, I too wanted to keep that cigarette feel, but the recharging just got ridiculous, so I went to a Riva 510, a Joye eGo clone. These are equivalent to 4-7 of those Joye 510 batts, 650 mAh to 1100 mAh. If your'e home most of the time, it doesn't matter how it looks. Some people never abandon the cig feel, but most do. I mostly use the little batts for when I go out or when I want to change the vape.

Good luck!

510 seems to be the most popular and has the most places to buy parts online but I use a KR808D-1 and have no problems (and it looks very similar to a regular cigarette). I have three batteries that I use in rotation just like you, but I really only need 2. The manual battery has a button to press when you hit it and the auto battery doesn't. The manual seems better to me because it give a little stronger hit and you can purchase adapters for the 808 to make it where you can drip to taste new liquids. I work at home too and one battery lasts me all day.

I second the volt batteries if you want to stay with the cig size. They come in a wide range of options and battery life is as long as your going to get at that size. I'm not sure about using them with your stash of cartos, you'll need an adapter and if you want the auto(without button) battery it may not work well or at all using an adapter. You'll probably find you like the volt cartos better anyway so I'd just go with those. They perform great and last quite a number of refills.

Plus, if you start to refill e-juice, there'll be leakages. The manual batt is sealed, less likely to lose your batt. I started with autos too, but moved on.

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping

Joye 510 is the same amount of charge as RN4081 - 180mah
Joye 510 mega xl is 128mm long with a cartomizer - 280mah (these manuals are very nice but long)
There are few prefilled decent cartos for 510 but the most variety of blanks as well as tank atomizers and tanks which some like. Blank cartomizers like Boge are most popular on these

Vapor4Life shorty is 180mah, standard is 280mah (has prefilled cartos from several different vendors, and blank cartos), a true 3.7v slim ecig. The other style (SmokelessImage Volt, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6) claims 220 mah for the short battery and 320mah for the longer 78mm battery, but right now they have a short cutoff of 5 seconds - you cannot take a drag longer than 5 seconds but you can take another drag right away (before you inhale for example). Vapor4Life manual lets me take long drags. Vapor4Life also has a very long 350mah battery. These KR808D-1 models can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and cart for testing juices (drip tip is preferable if you have manual batteries but not recommended on auto batteries)

Those are the best loved, best supported slim minis. Most people here use and recommend manuals. Manuals make it easier to get a good hit. They won't turn on accidentally in wind or vibration. And most manuals are somewhat sealed on the threaded end. Manual 510 is sealed metal, Vapor4Life new manuals should have the threaded end hole plugged, and Vapor4Life manuals have a solid metal threaded end. So these are very very difficult to damage with juices leaks from cartomizers or drip tips.

If you want longer charge than that, you have to skip the slim ecigs and go to fat battery models and mods. These 450mah+ batteries (typically 650mah+) can also optionally use the hotter low resistance atomizers and cartomizers.

How heavy do these larger batts get? Are some of these larger ones light enough to hold in your mouth without ending up buck toothed in a month?

I really like to vape non stop when I'm crunching hard at work, and its hard to type with one hand holding a big e cig...

I've never met a PV I could hold with my lips, and it probably stands to reason that batteries, being the bottom-heavy part of any E-cig, are going to be heavier the larger they get.

No you cannot hold an Ego or Riva 510 in the mouth alone. And they are manual, not auto.

Not unless you lift weights with your lips

I can hold a SmokelessImage Volt 78mm with my teeth - I just tried for you. So it doesn't seem to be too heavy. However a standard Kanger KR808D-1 seems to be a lighter weight battery. I would not want to hold these in my teeth - I have to bite pretty hard - they are not light.

What's a PV?

PV is Personal Vaporizer, what we call E-cigs. (Just a note as you're tooling around here, if you ever see a word with a little dotted line under it, hover your mouse over it and it'll expand the definition for you. You'll see it often on abbreviations like PV, VG, PG, etc.)

Nope, too heavy. Don't really wanna hold 'em in your teeth either, might chip a tooth.
