I don't think anybody ever developed a new battery for vaping - these sizes already existed and will continue to exist. The ones we like may not be EVERYWHERE, but we FOUND them initially and will find them again if we need to...

I'd say that's about the LAST thing the FDA will look for - but yes, if vape shops close, and if vape websites start getting looked at, it would be good to have non-vaping sources for things like batteries, wire, PG and VG, etc.

First, it would be easy for RTD to spin off a "battery only" business with no reference to vaping...
The other obvious battery source is flashlight suppliers.
Here's a few I know and trust:

Illumn.com
Orbtronic.com
IMRBatteries.com
Nitemods.com

Some of us are wondering about battery availability from non-vape sources.

18650s shouldn't be a problem. But, what about 14500, 19350, 16340, 18490, etc? How hard are these to get from non-vape sources?

Any way to get a list of what's available where? What sources should I search?

Is there such a thing as an 18490 flashlight?

They're practically there already.

This is what I'm hoping. I've looked at illumn and orbtronics, and I think they both have only types of 14500 that I'm not to sure about. No aw imr. I don't think either has 18490 but I could be wrong.

will definitely check the other two, thanks for the list!

You found the EDC section huh? :p

I bought the WK41 which uses a 14500... or a NiMh... or a plain old alkaline. Very versatile. The price seems "what the hell am I doing?" high, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite things.

Get on their mailing list. They do cough up a discount code a few times a year. And sales prices on specific items.

And FYI, That "Nitemods" site - I was referred there, and the owner had a thread here, also know as "Wonderlite" - but he's gone from ECF. He was here for years - and would do direct "order in the thread" battery buys, and several people vouched for him. Maybe just not worth keeping that up, cuz no activity in a year...
