Battery charge crashes PC.

Has anyone else had their computer reboot when they plug in their ego charger? lol
It's happened 3 times now.

I haven't tried plugging my ego into the computer. The first e-cig I bought I did and it wouldn't reboot the computer, it would just shut it right off.

The way I figured out how to fix that was...........Don't plug it into the computer, use the wall charger.

If you have a short in your charger or battery you could damage your computer, I always use the wall plug and never the computer..Just saying..

I tried plugging mine into the front port on my computer when I first got it. Result was the computer failing to recognize any usb ports after that. Major hassle. I use wall adapters and my wife uses a powered usb hub. No problems.

I was warned early on not to use the USB on my computer to charge my Ego, or my passthrough, that it could potentially damage my computer. Since my laptop is still relatively new, I've been using the wall charger.

Not liking the answer though. Simply because I just bought a usb charging cable to have at work so I don't have to haul a charger back and forth. Looks like I have to buy the wall plug too. Bummer. Better than killing my work computer though.

Never use your PC. A USB wall plug is small and cheap! If you have an iPhone, iPad etc. you already have one.

Yes, this has been mentioned on various forums. No way am I plugging a cheap device into a $1000+ laptop!

What kind of computer do you have? Any idea of of the wattage of your power supply? How many other peripherals or bits of hardware are plugged into the computer (keyboard, mouse, printer, USB hub, etc.)? Do you hear a beep when it shuts down? Typically, when a PSU spreads itself too thin it will shut off as a safety measure. That's why when troubleshooting PSU's you're supposed to disconnect peripherals and other internal components piece by piece to see if the computer will run better. So, that's my vote. If you find now that your computer keeps shutting itself down WITHOUT the passthrough, the PSU might be damaged.
