Battery charger question

So my new charger, xtar VP1, can change the current level of the charge. The amp levels are .25, .50 or 1.0 amps. Obviously 1 amp charges faster but does it have a negative effect on life of the battery? Should I just charge at .25 unless I need a quick charge?

Each battery (type/model) has it's own ratings. Just to double check; which batteries are you charging?

If it's AW 18650s, they can all be safely charged at ONE.

If you are the type to baby your gear, and treat it like gold, the .5A setting is for you.


ETA: if it were me, I'd leave the charger on .5A, and switch to 1A when I'm in a hurry.

Thanks, I do use AW 18650s and will use .5 most of the time.
