I do not have a wiring diagram, but I suppose it's possible they're using they're own buck/boost/capacitor setup to deliver 8 amps off of a 4 amp adapter. All I know is that it works! If you really want tech, there's a complete review on candlepower forums...

That would likely be a strobing charge where it alternately hits bays 1-3-5-7 and then 2-4-6-8 in sequence to keep the load at 4A. The must be how the magic occurs.

Or a chip booster in the charger kind like how regulated mods work on amps

There was another reply earlier that covered this.
The input is 12V x 4A = 48W. Subtract 5W for inefficiencies in the circuitry and you have 43W available.

    8 channels x 1A x 4.2V = 32.8W
Add 10% for inefficiences = 37W required for charging 8 channels simultaneously at 1A each.

    No problem. :)

Mooch, is it worth spending the money to get a charger that will refresh the cells (such as the Opus BT-C3100) or is it unnecessary to do that and just a waste of money to buy another charger when the one I have now charges the cells fine. Will refreshing throughout the cells life cycle be able to allow for a longer life?

Refreshing is useless for li-ion batteries unless they have been in storage for many months. If that has happened, just use them for a cycle and they will "refresh" themselves.

So a waste of money. Thanks!
