I searched through the threads for a few pages and couldn't find anything about this specific question. I'm sure its answered here on another sub forum somewhere on ECF, but since I only have external batteries for a ProVari I'm posting here.

I usually have been waiting for the ProVari to get to the point that it will not fire before removing the battery and charging it. I'm using AW IMR 18490 3.7V 1100mAh (4.1WH) batteries that came with the unit.

Is it bad for the battery or just a bad idea in general if I go ahead and re charge the batteries when the warning light starts flashing the slow flash warning... or even a little before it gets to the point of flashing the warning?

Thanks in advance for the input.

Not at all. In fact, it may EXTEND the life of the batteries to charge them a little early (even though you're charging them more often).
I do the same as you...
If I happen to notice (checking because I'm about to leave, perhaps) that it's at say 3.5 - I'll pull it, pop in a new one, and then charge it when I'm back at my desk.
