Rapiidly Flashing Light on ProVari

Just swapped out a 18490 on the ProVari.

Went to take a hit and nothing. Look down to see the firing button rapidly flashing. Took out the battery. Checked the carto on my Mini and fine. No change in Ohm's or shorted.

Put in a freshly charged 18650, all IMR's, still no fire and rapid flashing light.

Have sent an email off to ProVape but wondered if anyone had seen this before ?

80% of the time I use the 18490's that are only 6 - 8 weeks old. The 18650 IMR's are younger so do not think this is a battery issue. The carto is fine on the Mini, takes vape.

The worrying thing I just remembered is that there is also a rapid clicking sound coming from the device.

Off to work but at least I have my Mini.

Hi Andy. Horrible news. Did you try cleaning the battery contacts? I mean both, on the batteries as well as on the PriVari? I'd give it a go.

Did you happen to check the battery charge while in the Provari? Maybe it wouldn't let you. Check out the FAQ and troubleshooting pages too, maybe it will tell you. bnrk

Will update when I get home. Cleaned the contacts before I left for work so didn't get a chance to recheck but will do when I get home.

Before I tried anything I popped in an 18490.

It fired!

Then cleaned all 4 batteries I use in it and the firing pin.

Tried with an 18650.

It fired.

Still not certain what happened which is mire than a little disconcerting but my black wonder is working again which is a relief.

Bad contact is usually to blame for such behavior.

No replication of this issue in the last 25 days so agree probably dirty contacts.

Now cleaning them on a weekly basis just in case.

Provape told me when you think it is the contacts it can be that the inside of the unit can also get gunked up. If that is the issue, they also told me you can give it an alcohol bath to free the gunk.

I just cleaned my inside contact with a Q-tip and alcohol. It was acting up, and I had a battery go bad all at once. I was tripping for a few, but a fresh battery and the cleaning made it like new.

Correction, the battery I thought was bad simply had some substance on it that needed to be cleaned.
