Why don't battery chargers stop charging when the battery has reached a full charge? As much as the "Don't Overcharge" and "Don't Charge Unattended" topic comes up, why can't a charger be made that just stops charging when the charge is complete?

I can't remember for certain, but I thought I used to have an old AA Ni-Cad charger that did that.

There are any number of those chargers already on the market. Not everyone buys one.

Regardless, even the best of chargers can have failures or be subject to accidents. Given the kind of batteries we use in vaping, paying proper respect to them and erring on the side of caution has never caused harm. Failures or accidents, well..................

A good charger WILL stop and switch to trickle charge mode. It'll monitor the batteries to prevent overcharging.

Just get some silicon or other cases/sleeves and take them out after a while and/or don't use the batteries for at least an hour for them to stabilize and cool. It's better for them.
