So i just got 2 brand new batterys(Efest 3000mAh 35A) to use a couple days ago and today i decided to charge them.

After charging them i had one into my vamo mod and the other one was about to go into the plastic case for storing and when i was about to get it in, it slip from my fingers and ends up on the floor :(

Heres the damage

So who thinks its safe to use? (after rewraping it of course)

Thanks for reading my sad story.

We have no idea what internal damage was caused by the drop. Could be nothing or could be catastrophic once the battery is put under load. Personally I’d recycle the cell and purchase a pair of new ones.

I’d also recommended cells from legit companies and not re-wraps. LG, Sony, Samsung.

batteries are packed to fill every last bit of space inside. A dent in the can means the battery is done. Dead.
You could only verify any internal damage by destroying the battery in the process so that's not an option.

PID gives good advice, only buy authentic batteries, not rewraps. And treat them like you would raw eggs.

yeah not my first dropped batt but my first dent, bad luck i think because it got direct impact on that spot it wasnt even too much distance arround 1 meter (3 feet i guess).

Thanks all for replying, i kinda knew its best to not risk it but i guess i needed to vent and better me than the battery lol.

Reading the info from moosh and i will see what batterys i can find arround me since last time i checked not many vendors from the US were shipping to mex.

Cheers

Good luck! Enough support?:pervy:

Dented cells need to be replaced.
In fact you should consider replacing cells after you dropped them in general, no matter if dented or not. The internals are not only cramped but also quite fragile, so even mild shocks can cause internal damage.
I once wanted to remove a VTC5 from my charger and it slipped out of my hand in the process, shooting straight at the wall.
Impact wasn't very hard and there was no damage on the can, but its performance dropped considerably.
