I found this thread searching for battery issues as My nemesis clone had a very stupid ego style clearomizer on it for a couple of days on and off and a couple of my EFests 35 mAw 's got hot in it..( Vape shop bought back the clearomizer & adapter but ignored the batteries they also sold me as if they would be fine..)

I bought two new ones for my IPV3 ( they say use a set on your VV/VW and DON'T use them in anything else..) but the first two I use for mods are acting weird now.. I was just trying to justify / validate tossing them..
I know better I have found a cheaper outlet on line and will be getting a few more and trying the vamped 40mAw just for laughs... but I paid so much for those damn efests I guess I'll just be happy I located a much cheaper source and let them go and play it safe...
I build at like .2 so safer is smarter..

I also learned that although longer charge time charging at the lower rate is better for the battery ( wish I knew that weeks ago )

How come your wraps are pink? I got a pair of LGHE2 too and they are red, and every site I saw selling them are red too. Is it my screen resolution getting bad?

My all day vape is a mechanical mod setup drawing about 14A. I use the HE2 and 25R for that and I can't tell the difference in the vape between them. I have a setup that I vape occasionally which draws about 21A and I use the VTC5's for that.

I don't know why but at the back of my mind, I would only imagine ur vaping at 5A at most with something like a 1.5+ ohm clearomizer. :) Haha, sorry...

Nothing near the situation... I guess you skipped over the OP to just make a pointless and unassociated comment???

This happened at the shop, on a new OOB mod that had a direct short! Shop owner then tried his batt, thinking mine was bad. The shorted mod smoked his batt too! The mod never had an atty on it, and was still off! Obviously the owner gave me a new mod right then and there! But yes it smoked the batt, and yes the heat discolored the wrap from red to lighter red, looks pink in image.

Relax... I'm merely pointing out that because you didn't quote, or multi quote anything; neither the many readers here, or I, had any idea what you were answering or commenting on.

I would not leave batteries that are getting extremely hot to charge over night. Use common sense and do it while your there.
Be safe

One has to wonder if people bother to even read the first post anymore...

I think they're too much of a hurry to be an Internet "Hero" by saving the day with their vast knowledge to bother reading anything but the thread title and then react! LOL!

Here's the story:

Last night I bought a new mod. Luckily I took my old mod and while still in the store put the batt from my old mod into the new one. Apparently this new mod (iPV Mini V2) was bad straight outta the box. I didn't even get the mod turned on yet and it started to get warm, then hot. After maybe 5-10 seconds max, I removed battery and it was nearly too hot to hold. I took it outside the shop and placed it on the concrete for safety and to let it cool. Luckily I did all this in the shop and the owner and I were the only ones in the place. The owner then asked me where I got the battery (Illumn.com), how old it was (3 weeks), and he insinuated that I had a bad batt... then he put one of his own batts into the mod and the same thing happened to his batt. Needless to say he replaced that mod right then and there.

I let the batt continue to cool down outside for a lil longer then took it home and let it rest for about 2 hours. Then I placed it on the charger and let it charge overnight. The batt got so hot that it bubbled the shrink warp a little bit in places.
I don't think you understand your own post, you placed a battery on charge overnight, a battery you was having problems with overheating earlier. Regardless if it was the mod. You said yourself it got so hot it bubbled the wrap. Mate it's better to be safe than sorry.
This is why explosions happen then the ecig battery's get the blame.

TIA!

After re-reading my OP, perhaps I wasn't clear in my OP...

The charger didn't cause any overheating! All the overheating occurred as a result of the initial direct short in the brand new mod while still at my local shop. The wrap that bubbled also occurred as a result of the overheating at the local shop.

The questionable batt has been replaced and recycled! After a few cycles it was completely apparent that the batt was damaged, it used to last 8-12 hours which dropped to 4-6! Bye bye batt!

You was quick to say that doesn't nobody read the first post properly.
Well if it was wrote in English and you didn't skip bits out. You should have sorted your first post before jumping down people's throats.

First off RELAX, CHILL, DOWN BOY DOWN!!!!

You guys in the UK think you have the handle on the English language? Feel free to re-read your quote above and you'll see you don't write in English that well either! "Well if it was wrote in English..." (was written in) would have been correct!

I can't fix my OP, it's too late to edit it! I had moved something's around and failed to move the "bit" about the wrap bubbling to the 1st paragraph! Scuuuuuse me!

We beat you in the war for our Independence, then we saved your rears in two world wars...get over it! LOL!
