So my current setup is an Ego 510 with a Boge 510 carto at 2.0 Ohms. I have been using this for a while and I have loved it, but I think it is time to upgrade. I was thinking of Silver Bullet with a 18650 at 3.7v and a dual coil tank.

I have looked around here and a few other places about batteries, but a lot of the information goes over my head. I know that to never let it charge over night, there are different types of protection, don't let them get to hot while charging, and take the battery off the charger when it says its done; Other wise you are gonna have a real bad day.

(Sorry for the long intro before the actual question, so here it is) What other things do I need to know before I put batteries in the charger then start vaping?

Thanks in advance!

The first thing your going to want to grab is a multimeter. This will allow you to check the voltages of your batteries coming of the charger, to assure they are charging correctly. Next, a good charger is going to make things much easier. A very highly recommended charger is the Pila brand charger, found here: Pila IBC Charger for 14500 / 17500 / 18500 / 18650 3.7 volt Lithium Battery Charger

When a lithium battery comes off the charger, it should be no higher then 4.2 volts. When using a new charger, you should check the battery when it comes off the charger every time for a week or so, to make sure it is charging correctly. Most battery chargers, especially the Pila chargers, have overcharging protection built in, so it is not a huge deal if you leave them on for a short time after they are finished charging. You do not however want to leave them unattended for long periods of time, especially if you are away from home.

I'm sure youve heard it before, but NEVER use unprotected batteries in your mods. This is the most unsafe way to use your mods. Here are some brands that sell protected cells that are ok to use:

Ultra/trust fire batteries. These are generally cheaper, but usually work fine in most mods. These cells to have variances in sizes, and have been known to be counterfeited.

AW batteries. These are higher quality cells, that have been checked for quality. Very highly recommended.

Panosonic. These cells are made in Japan, and are generally very high quality. My personal favorite for the 18650 size.

If your going to be using them in your silver bullet, you might want to look at using IMR cells. These are technically unprotected, but they are safer chemistry, which means in the event that something goes wrong, they are less likely to vent violently creating explosive force.

Hopefully some of this helps. Let me know if I wasn't very clear with any of this answer, and if you have any more questions I'm more then happy to help.
