So I've been rocking a blue Dimitri clone box mod for about a month now, with 2 sets of 18650 AWT 40 amp batteries. Been vaping like a champ, and still does! But all of my batteries are married sets, yet when I take my batteries out of my mod, (parallel btw) one on the charger shows at a full charge, while the other is completely drained. And as I said, these are married sets, so this should not be doing this EVER! Is it an issue with my batteries or do you think it's an actual issue with the box? I really don't want to have to drop a boat load on a new box just because of this drainage issue, but I will if I have to and this keeps happening. Should I do box mod surgery and remove the top plate to investigate connections? Should I purchase and marry a new battery set and see what happens? Or should I retire Dimitri and go for an all new box? Please help! Desperate to not destroy my favorite mod!

yeek! is it the battery from one specific side of the battery sled that this is happening with? i have my married sets tagged (set 1/batt 1, set 1/ batt 2, etc) so that i not only keep them together, I rotate them (though if they are running parallel, as opposed to series, this may be less of an issue)... it almost sounds like connections on one side of sled may be wonky

Obviously there is something wrong with the battery contacts in the box, the batteries should drain in a reasonably even manner.

BTW, there is no such thing as an 18650 with more than a 30a CDR, all stating otherwise are using a false marketing hype rating.

Completely and utterly false. Awite 40 amp exactly what it says: "IMR 18650 3.7V 2500 MAH 40 AMP." Me thinks you need to do more research before you start calling me dumb. So, unless you have documented proof of this, don't be talking to me that way. Ktnxbi. Don't take kindly to people like this at all.

It is a false rating. This is done quite frequently by "rewrappers", companies that purchase batteries and add their own wrapper to it : There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A! | E-Cigarette Forum

This is just my personal opinion but if someone with @Topwater Elvis's experience says there are no 40A batteries you might want to stop for just a second to think that over. His experience might have led him to know more about these things than you. You certainly could have just asked him why he said that and requested more information.

heya Spyder - I don't know that they were calling you dumb by any stretch of the imagination, but it IS pretty common for batteries to be labeled in a misleading fashion - as I understand it, based on current battery chemistry, there are no 40 amp CONTINUOUS batteries - some may pulse that high, but there is a difference and the marketing guys/ battery wrappers don't really bother to explain it - they just want to sell batteries... and a 2500 MAH/ 40 AMP battery would be like nirvana for mech users, if it was a safe, reliable battery... may want to take a look at mooch's bench tests List of Battery Tests | E-Cigarette Forum and check out some of the battery safety posts like 18650 Safety Grades -- Picking a Safe Battery to Vape With | E-Cigarette Forum - I don't believe the post was meant as condescending or insulting, but for safety awareness, but that is just my 2c

bottom line, be safe - make sure your batteries are okay

I didn't call you dumb or anything else.

A lot of folks fall for the marking hype rated batteries without knowing any better.
    ---> http://budgetlightforum.com/node/40930

Another re wrapped & falsely labeled 20a CDR (continuous discharge rate / continuous discharge current) battery.

And, yes, it is false advertizing (lies to sell more batteries) bordering on being dangerous if used even near the over stated amp claims, many unscrupulous companies do it.
The sketchy companies that use false marketing hype ratings far out number the legitimate ones that rate their batteries in an accurate / sane / safe manner.

Read online that it could also be a coil issue if one is ramping up faster than the other. Wondering if my coils are somewhat offset as it were....Hmm....Might be time to go to the boss's house and have him conduct some mad scientist surgery.
not sure one coil ramping faster would impact one battery draining while the other doesn't - I don't believe the coils can be wired to draw from individual batteries unless it was some kind of hybrid mod - single firing pin would mean all the current is coming from the same place

easy to confirm that only one side is working.
use your box in single battery mode.
first put the battery on the left and vape for a while.
then put the battery on the right and vape for a while.

if one side has a contact problem you will find which side that way.

Yet 90% of you saying your "not calling me dumb" are getting quite insulting. Should have listened to my co-worker and avoided this forum. Lots of rude people on here Im seeing. How about instead of bashing me when I work with vapes for a living and know that what I carry is completely legit or my manager would NOT allow it to be sold is complete bull. Super disappointed in the general treatment here. Seems to be a lot of vape snobs on here thinking they know everything when all theyre doing is giving vaping a bad name. Ill look for answers elsewhere. Seems like this has turned into a "lets call spyder stupid as all get out" thread when I was simply asking for HELP. You have disappointed me severely.

You call this excellent advice? I dont see an ounce of advice here! All I see is everyone here calling me dumb and a liar! I will not tolerate it one bit. Why the victim always gets punished I dont know. But thats exactly what youre doing to me. Like I said, I should have listened when I was told this forum is very rude and snobby. I regret this.
