Married batteries discharged unevenly accidentally

I was given a Dimitri box mod by my friend to fix up because the 510 pin was acting up for him. After fixing it up and giving the entire piece a decent cleaning, I put my married authentic vtc4's in it. I used it for the past day till I noticed a drop and was surprised how fast it happened as it should have been 2x the time. As it turns out only one battery was being discharged and now one battery has an extra discharge on it while its partner does not. Should I be worried about using them in my regulated mod for the rest of their lives?

from what I have read... this is an issue... one battery is experiencing a harder amp draw compared to the other. Hard amp draws on a battery is what causes them to melt down and go poof... I would determine which battery is dropping too fast, put it into retirement and spend the $ and get a new set, use the good one in a single battery mod...

I literally just bought these batteries less than a month ago. I only discharged it unevenly this once, they both are perfect batteries its just that the mod had bad contact with one of them and caused it to discharge unevenly leaving the other completely charged. What I meant to ask is is there any harm in having that one battery discharged once more than the other.

I think a good comparison scenario would be, "I accidentally used a battery from a married pair in a mech mod once, is it fine to use still"

Unless that one discharged battery was badly abused, because twice as much current was being drawn from it as you thought, you should be ok. In my opinion there is no problem if one only has one more cycle on it than the other. The battery to battery differences from the manufacturer can be larger than what that one cycle did.

I would definitely repair that mod before using it again though. :)

I have a Dimitri clone that does this. Had a problem between the contacts in the switch and the one it's supposed to touch (at least this is what I suspect). Never was able to fix it, but I can honestly say I really don't care about the mod all that much. If I happen to stumble across the fix, I'll give it a try, but I'm not spending any more time on that mod.

    This ^^^ :)

I have one dual parallel battery mod that I had that happen to once. One of the batteries just didn't make contact. The batteries have not been a problem.

Just found out where the issue is. after shaving down the connection pins for better, cleaner contact, i noticed that this thin strip of what looks to be coated copper, is just not transferring electricity well. It's even oxidizing use. Tomorrow ill go in and solder up 2-3 16ga pieces of silver wire. hopefully this fixes the issue.

I fixed the problem with some 14 gauge silver wire. Each slot now puts out the exact same voltage (no voltage drop) because of that new wire. This mod is actually one of the best I have now. I wish they could have used silver and a better connection on the final version as this problem would have been avoided.
