I left my aw imr battery in my car for about 3 hours, just the battery. It was very warm to touch. Not hot to the point of not being able to hold but very warm. Should I be concerned?
I leave mine in the truck without much worry, and we are quickly approaching 110 out here in the desert. It isn't good for them and I am fully aware of this. They will suffer a shorter lifespan, but it is a trade off that I am willing to accept. I refuse to carry 3 batteries so they stay in the console till I get home.
For the safety side, they shouldn't be used if they are above ~120*F. They aren't *supposed* to go thermal runaway until about 350*F.
Assuming that you are using an IMR in you Provari, you have a bit more room for safety. IMR thermal runaway it's until around 450*F and they typically won't go boom, just ooze their guts out from what I understand. The biggest danger is charging in a high temp condition. So if you have a car charger, always unplug it or remove the batt when leaving the vehicle.
