I have a 510; 808D1; eGo and Riva; and a 3.7V bottom feeder. I love them all (except the original 510 - mainly because I get the same experience using my eGo/Riva batteries w/o having to deal with the lousy battery life. In fact, I sent my original 510 kit to my cousin to see if I can get him to give up the cancer sticks after about 40 years). Why so many different versions? The 510 didn't do it for me. Got my 808d1 and liked it much better. Seemed to have a better hit to it. My standard manual batteries last about 2 hrs of chain vaping. Then I got my eGo and Rivas - I wanted to try the eGo tank system. Originally I loved it, but they just leak too much for me now. I got the new 510 tank system and like that much better. Although it holds about 1/2 as much as the eGo T, I'm not losing half my juice to leaking, so the 510 T is a better deal for a tank system (also think it has better flavor than the eGo T). I hadn't planned on buying a bottom feeder so soon, but found a good deal on it and went for it. Also has its pros and cons like all the others.

Some people act like the 510 is so different from the eGo. The only difference I see is battery life. Batteries only have so many charge cycles in their lifetime. The bigger eGo batteries just allow me to not have to charge a battery every 1-2 hrs. I still use the same old cartos with my eGo batteries that I was using with my 510. I also keep a couple 510-808 and 808-510 adapters around so I can use whatever carto with whatever battery I want.

I still think, for a carto user, the V4L is about the best carto experience out there. I had lost interest in my 808s for a while, until I went to the GA Vapers meet up and saw everyone with their cute little V4L's... made me pull mine out again.

I just have vaping ADD - with systems and flavors. I never use any one thing all day long. When I'm at my computer, I have my eGo PT and an 808 PT. I don't know - maybe I'm still trying to decide what I like best. I just enjoy it all right now. A little bit of everything. Its too much fun.

Whoa! you have bought a LOT of equipment in 62 days! This did make me understand a bit better. I started with V4L on 7/30/10 and I haven't ever bought anything else. It works for me. I just don't understand why people don't commit to one model and give it a chance.

Yeah, a lot, but its been fun. And still prolly cheaper than a carton of analogs a week. My biggest attraction to my eGos is the battery life - there is always one of my PVs in my paw. I won't even go into my juice collection. So many yummy flavors and great vendors to choose from. I have no desires for different equipment at this point - maybe some new V4L batteries in fun colors, tho. I have been vaping longer than than 62 days... and it took me a little while to quit smoking after I started vaping.

I guess another thing to remember is that battery life is in the eye of the vaper... I think the biggest factor in battery experience is how one uses it - chain vapers will never think a battery lasts long enough.

I might think differently after my cruise in a room with only one outlet though :) All 7 batts charged and I should be okay :)

Buy a multi-port USB hub & wall charger. This means you can charge lots of batts at once from one power outlet. I have a 7 port hub - though it doesn't appear to charge more than 2 at a time  but it was only an ebay cheapie, I plan to buy a better quality 4 port hub.

I've mainly used KR808 shorties so can't comment on others. I used to get through a whole day on 1 batt before changing to another early evening. I am finding that I'm getting through batteries much quicker now, as soon as one battery is charged, the next is ready for charging. But then, also getting through cartos quicker :( . Feel like I'm only getting about 10 cigarettes' worth of vaping out of both now.

I do sometimes feel drawn to trying something that'll give me more vaping time, but they're all so ugly. And no way am I fiddling with atomizers along with everything else.

I have to admit being a newbie, I was pretty put off by the suggestions made in the new members forum. I almost thought, well the Greensmoke I wasted money on is probably as good as it gets unless i carry around something as big as a cigar (or a flashlight based on some suggestions). It almost made me write off this forum, which would have been terrible to miss out on something i now enjoy (posting to you all and reading all your great info). I am stubborn by nature, so someday maybe I might think i need something else, but i pretty much think I would be back pretty quickly.

With 4xls I never hit flashing led's anytime during the day. I don't vape at my desk (I am pretty sure that would cause a riot where I work) but I do go outside a few times during the day and vape about 30 mins at lunch. The PT is awesome at home, especially with the 2amp usb wall charger. (Get a 2 amp one everyone!)

Thank you all! Your a great inspiration! I hope i don't wear out my welcome, because you have all been great!

I have no idea how long a battery lasts. I've taken to carrying around 5 or 6 ecigs with me at all times (in an old cigarette holder) and I just rotate them during the day. I don't carry any chargers unless I'm on the road with my laptop case, which I keep a couple of different usb chargers in. Generally I have at least a couple of V4L shorties, a Smokestik and a couple of the little Blu/Volcano/Sidesho types. The two usb chargers handle all these brands (the 'universal' one I have is a gem and handles both V4L and SS, while the Blu charger handles all the little guys).

Ms Nevada I am dying to know ..will you only be able to vape in your room on a cruise ? I know they dont allow smoking so do they allow vaping outside or ?
According to all the info I have gathered from employees of the line to this forum, I can vape anywhere except the main dining room, though I will probably leave the white shorty with the red LED in the room. I would much rather it NOT look like an analog in this instance :)

yeah but who but a workaholic wants to take a laptop on a cruise ?
I take one. I dump all the photos from my camera in it and use it for charging my phones, cameras, and now my batts. I can also use my PT if I am lucky enough to have a shipboard romance (or more likely if I decide to hang out in the room and watch a movie LOL)

They just want to stay in touch with US! :w00t:
Wish I could but the internet packages are expensive and the service sucks. Ya'll will just have to live without me for a few days :)

OMG YES !!!!:w00t::w00t::w00t::banana: we can go on da cruise too via webcam !!!! It'll be GREAT !!!!!:vapor:
That would be a blast. I am going to take lots of pics though, and when I get back I will share them for those that are living vicariously through me (looks at Keelalagirl :D)

Every ship is different. When I was on the NCL Epic in October I actually did vape in the specialty restaurants. I've never tied vaping in the showrooms, I would imagine people would freak. On most lines I play it by ear. One of the Carnival ships (I think it's the Pride) actually has a captain that vapes so when I was on her last summer I did in everyplace but the restaurant and showroom. Royal is rough -- I stay with the outside areas and smoking areas. I do vape on Royal and Celebrity in my cabin but they have gone no smoking in all cabins. We were on a river cruise in Europe over New Year's and I used mine all over except the main dining room. (Yes, I'm a cruise addict)

Have a great cruise Ms. Nevada! What ship?

What have y'all found to be the lifetime for a V4L XL manual? I've had mine for about 3 months and they are starting to fail. By fail, I mean the hit will stop in the middle even though I still have the button pushed. Is this normal?

Steevie I was just curious if this is your primary battery, do you have a couple in rotation, or a Passthrough. If you only have 2 batteries, no Passthrough, and vape a couple cartos a day I could see how you batts might be starting to fail.

I believe (don't hold me to it) that the batteries are rated by charge cycle and for some reason the number 300 seems to pop in my mind. So in the span of 3 months charging 2-3 times a day on average comes out to 180-270 charges.

Is your battery connection clean.....? Do you have black resin in the threads of you batteries? I'd probably give your batts a good cleaning and clean your recharger as well. Just unplug it, shine a light into it and take Q-tip dipped in alcohol and wipe off the center post of the connector.

Between my wife and I we have 8 batteries we use on a regular rotation. Most are V4L. I also use a PT at work and avoid using the regular batteries while I'm there. The batteries we've gotten that worked right away are the ones failing (we've had 6 that didn't work on delivery, too, but they've been replaced by V4L).

That's another thing... Although V4L replaces them rapidly, I'm really disappointed that we have to go through the replacement process. You'd think a 50% fail rate out of the box would be disturbing to the company. That said, they do replace them and I have no problem with the customer service in that regard. The hassle of all that is something I'd rather not deal with, though

But, truth be told, I'm looking at other options for batteries. Bloog didn't do it for us as we don't care for automatics. I like V4L and appreciate the quick responses to the issues, but I'm not sure I want to keep them as our primary source any longer.

We are going on the Carnival Paradise. 4 day Mexican Riviera. I have heard from John Healds blog and from Carnival themselves that it is acceptable to vape anywhere but the main dining room. I will probably also refrain in the showrooms unless I stealth. I am not really comfortable vaping in any ultra crowded area...but my thoughts on that are for another thread :)

Sorry to hear that. I have 22 batteries and have not had a problem with any of them. The oldest ones go back to last July.
