Greetings - I apologize if there is an easy answer for this...I've been vaping for two weeks or so, and am wanting to try a painless battery mod. I thought I might be able to easily upgrade the battery in my PT (a 10440p), but with all the different battery designations and cautions about exploding batteries, I'm hesitant to take my own best guess - so I'll ask you for input!

Simply, I'd like to know if ordering a battery such as this will lead to any noticeable improvement for me. If there are other batteries that will work, I'd like to know about those too! Once my 510 batteries die out (I do have a few), then I'll begin the process of investing in something like the bartleby or an eGo.

Thanks for any input you may provide!

It won't give you any noticeable improvement at all, and it may or may not fit without forcing it in, since it's slightly longer than your current batteries. And no other batteries will fit without making modifications.

Thanks misterD - glad to see another Massachusetts person here :) I actually live closer to 'worster' than Boston.

I might try the USB passthrough...I'll tell you my concern now, however. I am afraid that I will love the 5 volt experience, and not have it be portable without an expensive mod! I am doing OK with stock 510 stuff, have not had an analog or a strong desire to since starting vaping. Once some of the 6 batteries I have start dying off, I'll begin exploring!

I found the same problem poytim. I vape on kr808d and also liked the xl hit I get. I really wanted a pt but was afraid of liking it too much. I bought one anyway and I do love it.There is a usb battery pack you can buy that last all day and fits in a shirt pocket. Its 5v at 2000mah so its very very nice. But try mega batteries for your 510 if you havent i like my kr808d pt with a 510 adapter. It vapes very nice. But I still use my xl batts when im out.

Thanks Brandnew vper; by xl do you mean bigger batteries? I was thinking of getting a 901 or kr808 as I heard they are slightly higher voltage...but that then means my pcc, chargers, etc for the 510 are not usable (right?). and by 'mega batteries', you mean the long ones? I havent tried those yet, but will...just trying not to dump too much money into the new habit!

EDIT - the battery pack for the USB pt though is not a bad idea!

can I mod that pcb battery holder on the regular PT into a box and fit say a huge 18650??
poytim: good luck on quitting those damn analogs. if you run out of attys or juice or anything ecig related just lemme know... plus its freaking damn easy to build a 5volts nicostick. dont buy any commercial bat build your own!!!

Thanks misterD, I appreciate that! Havent had an analog, but if things break without replacement it's good to know there is help close by! I'll offer the same to you, if, for example, floods take out your stash :)

I might try the nicostick, because of the cost - I think I could live with that, and I actually like 'tinkering' with stuff like that. I see madvapes appears to have all the needed stuff, too!

I put some 18650 on it, just solder on the battery ends and connect it where the 10440 is supposed to go. tape the 18650 to the box and voila, 5 min mod and now you've got a really nice pt, don't count on the integrated usb charger to charge it, just buy a 18650 battery charger and it will charge it.

btw even when you upgrade the battery the pt ain't that great, you lose around .7v just in the wire and in the el-cheapo switch, the wire will probably break soon if your using it a lot.
