I bought a Prodigy V2 from Puresmoker a few weeks ago, and I've had nothing but problems. I understand that it takes them time to build each mod from scratch and then ready to ship, but I had other problems. My mechanical switch melted on the second day, and the resistive disc is now melted into the switch core. Needless to say, it no longer works. :( Come to find out today (a day after I received confirmation to send it back and have it repaired), they're switching offices and it will be ten days before they will even start shipping again. I also e-mailed them the day after I received my Prodigy V2, and finally got confirmation to return the product six days later.

Now, I bear no grudge against Puresmoker as a company, but my experience with them has left me a little hurt. I'm looking into getting another high voltage battery mod, ~5V-6V. Forum, I want to know your personal favorites and suggestions for a heavy vaper who desires thick smoke and a large throat hit. I use the 510 atty, and I've been thinking of picking up the 901 as well (I hear good things).

Thanks ahead of time to everyone for their suggestions! :D

I can understand your frustration Galuf, but I have had nothing but great customer experiences with PureSmoker. You just happen to hit this issue when they're expanding their staff and moving.

If you PM Casey I'm sure she'll send you out a replacement switch as soon as possible. That is, as soon as she can find out which box they're in.

I have every part of my Prodigy V2 switch except the spring which went flying across my living room and now I can't find it

Puresmoker is sending out new switches to everyone eventually (they're shipping mine when my Protege switch comes in)

If you want to PM me your address I can mail you my V2 switch minus the spring (I have other PVs that can tied me over) until puresmoker is back up and running.

For the V2s, they're only sending out free upgrade kits, not entire switches. The kits include only stainless steel posts and an o-ring. You'd still need your original switch, button, and button housing. (By the way, I've read where others who also lost their spring have replaced it with the spring from a ballpoint pen.)

For the Protege, I believe they're sending out entirely new switches. The difference is the button/housing is aluminum instead of stainless steel.

To quote Homer Simpson: DOH!

Thanks Greg! Sorry, OP you can't have my switch

I took a bunch of pens apart and they're all too long - the one that was okay I put in my Protege because it was acting finicky.

Get a Silver Bullet....:D
You won't be sorry...

*Whack* Hush Boo! :w00t:

There area lot of SB's for sale in the classifieds *neener, neener*

I don't know how on earth you melted the switch either.
I have 5 PS devices and mine ALL work fine. 1 - V1 / 2 - Protege's and 2 - V2's
Most of the failures (except for some switch issues) are usually user error.
Not saying yours is, just saying....

PS has excellent customer service and unfortunately they're moving right now.
Just bad timing.....

I tried sending an e-mail about a similar issue with no response. Love my V2 but I have been constantly fighting the switch. Rotated posts, replaced spacer with o-ring, use oxgard and last night I had to scrap the corrosion off conductive disk.

I went ahead and paid the 27 dollars for the new "improved" stainless switch to replace the couple month old faulty original with an order of much needed atomizers. That was Tuesday by Thursday my order was still in "processing" and I get a form email saying nothing is to be shipped until the end of the month because they were moving on Saturday. Luckily an order of atties from China arrived. Pretty bad when I can get something from the other side of planet faster than 2 states away.

Sorry PS about the bus toss but kind of peeved about the lack of communication.

LOL! All the posts on this forum about problems with PS switches are user error?

How many posts about switch problems on the AltSmoke forum? Hmm?

Ya think the people who order their products are just less error prone? lol.

For the record, I love my Protege - when the switch works. Hopefully the newest incarnation they're sending out soon - for free! - will finally be THE ONE.

Steve and Casey have always had great customer service, and they work very hard to solve any and all issues with their products.

The switch situation is their downfall. I agree 100%

If they could produce a switch that works their designs are great.

I figured he pushed it..
I push mine but it's never *MELTED* the button.

*MELTED*
The temperature at which a solid changes to a liquid.

Just playin' Brock! :D

Probably a shorted atty and he held down the button trying to get some vapor. Or something like that. Good thing the switch gave out instead of the batts. 8-o

I don't think PS has met their downfall, they just added more staff and are moving to a bigger office! I'm sure they'll will work out their switch issues and continue to produce and sell great products.

I hope not... I really like the folks @ PS...

It just baffles me that so many people are having problems and mine work so well.

I still have the original tact switch in my V1 Prodigy and it works flawlessly.

It's my main go to device.....

My USB PT never worked quite right so I just don't use it. Need to fix it this summer...

Boochips ME TOO!!

Haha lots of SB in classifieds that go quick LOL I let mine go and had to buy it back lol same with the V2!

If I could only have one ...gotta say Maybe the new release ...if one could get info on what exactly is new and the specifics. Especially when pre-ordering an indication you would get--> "what" w/questions verified and answered. Also, listed on the order page at bare minimum! (<--oh good lord wonder if that made any sense to anyone besides me)

But if not- Boochips! hehe
