Ignoring whether marrying your batteries is really necessary or not, ANY set of married batteries can be used in ANY mod as long as you're not exceeding the limits of the batteries.

It doesn't matter if you're moving them from a series mod to a parallel mod, or vice-versa, the batteries won't care. They don't know what type of mod they're in or how that mod is wired up.

You can remove any number of batteries from a married set and still use that set. For example, you can take one battery out of a married set from a 3-battery mod like the Reuleaux RX200 and use the remaining two married batteries in a 2-battery mod like the H-Priv.

Just don't try to add batteries to a married set. They all need to be married from the start.

You wouldn't want to go back and forth though, right? Like have a set of three, then use two in a different mod, then use the three again in the original mod? Wouldn't that throw one of them off "balance?"

    We are thinking alike, Lessifer.

Mods that we use change from time to time as we retire one mod and replace it with a new one, and some of those need married sets to vape safely. I agree that married batteries could be broken up into the appropriate sets and used in smaller sets. I'm sure Mooch didn't mean that it was OK to repatriate batteries moved from a set of two or three to a lower sized set and then back to the original set they came from.

I have one mod that uses a single 18650. That's the Provari. Then, there's the Koopor Plus 200W that needs 2 18650's. I have 3 married pairs for the Koopor.

I just bought an Reuleaux RX200S that uses 3 batteries. So, now I have 3 married pairs and 2 married triplets. There are 3 Sony VTC4's and 3 LG HG2's.

I could move two of the triplet set into a dual pair, leaving one that could be used in the Provari. I think I'm going to keep mine paired up just for the convenience since they all have their boxes to live in as married sets.

I'm having to use 4 slot battery cases for the triplets. You'd think that vendors would sell 3 battery boxes since there are single, dual, and quad storage boxes!

I'm sure you're right, I was just asking for clarity since it didn't quite read that way to me. I don't even own any multiple battery mods, so it was more just for informational purposes.

The way I understand it, batteries used in different load environments age and change in different ways and their discharge curve can be altered. When batteries are married and used in the same mod they experience the same load and deplete the charge more or less equally.

If you move them around to different mods and then return them to a set of two or three in a mod that needs two or more batteries, then you have changed the "wear pattern" on the cells by using them in differing loads.

One might be stressed highly and the other not in the mods they were swapped to. That results in different voltages during discharge as the multiple batteries are then used in a multiple battery mod and reverse discharge could occur if the difference in voltage was significant and the mod didn't have diode protection to ensure one way current flow. A parallel mod would certainly have problems with batteries that were weakened by using one from a high current mod and the other from mod that drew less current.

Once you separate them then they're not married anymore. You cannot add batteries to a married set.
