I have a total of three 510 batteries. Two of them came with the origial kit. My wife has one (that barely gets used) from the kit and she only vapes once in awhile. I have the other two. I vape mostly at home so I swap out batteries in between charges.

The one that stopped working just now (I'm guessing) is the one from the original kit. The other battery is newer and can hold a charge longer. The battery that stopped working was reading as a full charge on the charger, and I took it out of the charger to use it when my other battery died.

The LED lit up...but no vapor. At first I thought maybe my atty died, so I asked my wife to borrow her battery and the atty worked. So I cleaned the threads of the battery and atty to make sure it gets a connection...but nothing. The atty doesn't get warm and no vapor. Now I just have a blue LED mini flashlight. The LED is bright when the button is pushed but it's not connecting to the atty.

I know batteries are disposable, but I thought that when they stopped holding a charge altogether was when they were no good. This one is still lighting the LED. Now I'm down to one battery...and I'm waiting for it to be charged. My wife won't give her battery up, and I respect that. I need nicotine now!

I will answer this with a general statement... sometimes when li-ion batteries go below the 20% charge it "shorts" simple way of putting it...so if this happens even if you put it in the charger it will end up lighting up as charged ,but in reality it doesn't have enough voltage to cook beans :p

when a battery sits even when not used it does have a slow discharge rate of roughly 1% a day(i think that is the book answer ;p).

I say this is a general statement because I don't want to say that is what happened to your battery since I really don't know the condition you put that batt through AND there is other circuitry inside the ecig batt that could fudge up.

Thanks for the advice guys but you won't believe this!!! Right after I posted this I was thinking of how I could clean the threads of the battery. I had just tried a cutip before posting this thread but to no avail...then I got a toothpick and really got in between the threads and pulled out some hidden black gunk.

NOW THE BATTERY WORKS. YEA FOR ME :):lol::)

And THATs why I made general statements :D

because if I shot off my opinion of what it maybe without knowing the situation...though i provided useful information.. i look like an ... because your only problem was battery cleaning

hmmm so take my input as just some future FYI or school for thought if you will

I take all the info I can get and judge it against my own knowledge. Thank You for the posts. I use these batteries everyday, and charge them everyday.

TIP TO CLEAN BATTERIES: If it's a connection problem, well you can try a cutip. But sometimes you gotta really get in the threads by using something small and pointy like a toothpick.
