I've had my REO mini for a few weeks now and I love it. I was using a 1.8ohm Cisco 306 that was used for quite a while. The other day I put a new (same atty specs) on and the flavor and vapor was the best thing I've ever experienced in over a year of vaping. Now, about a week later, I can't get it to perform hardly at all. When I do get vapor, it has no taste or tastes like metal, so when that happens I give the bottle a little squeeze and take a slow drag on it until I hear a slight gurgle. (I believe this is a blind squonk) After I do that.. barely anything comes out. When I listen for it, it sounds like the coil is completely submerged, so I blow it out and back at square one I go.

I have 4 IMRs that I use in rotation, but when I put a trustfire flame jacket in, it seems to perform soo much better, although the draw is still tight like the atty is flooded, I still get vapor. WTF am I doing wrong?? I use Dekang USA Mix at 16mg. My first thought is ditch the IMRs. Second, try a different atty (which I am going to do in an hour or 2) or Third, get a reducer tube? Any thought?

I'm new to this whole experience, so I don't quite feel confident that I am squonking properly. But, I can't find ANYTHING that explains the different methods or what to listen / feel for. The only description I found was blind squonking.

Please help! I'm going bald already and this thing is making me want to pull the rest of my hair out!

When you give the bottle a squonk look for little juice to just peak out around the base of the atty, then release, give it a quick draw, then vape
Takes a little practice, but you'll get it
Also you may want to clean the firing pin (I use a qtip soak in 90% isopropyl alcohol) and apply a dab of noalox to the pin

Good advice from Dj... I'll add about the squonking that it always better (imo) to have less juice in there because you can always add more and too much is wrong just wrong; it will not produce vapor and you will get juice in the mouth.
AW IMR's are better for 3.7 mods like the non VV Reo but that's because I like LR attys only with 3.7 mods, and IMR puts out the extra power that LR requires, on demand. THey might not last as long as the P14500 batts, but with 4 it should not be an issue.
- The IMRs you have may be old
I prefer 1.5 Ohm LR because you are more sure about getting plenty of vapor. 1.8 should be ok.

It just sounds like you are getting too much juice in there. Too little juice can give a harsh, even metallic taste especially if the coil is gunked from too many dry hits (Try cleaning your atty - soak in vodka for 1/2 hr and blow - through the connector end to be safe) once a week. but that is solved by just a tad more juice each time. The "trick" to bottom feeding, like dripping, is getting just the right amount of juice in the coil area.
(of course your batts and attys must be in decent condition).
