I would highly recommend the MXJO batteries. They are double RE-wrapped, 3000mah and 4.2volts. Just my opinion but I think it's the best battery on the market. A great external battery charger is a must and a good one is the LUC-V4 or LUC-V6. The V4 is a 4 bay and the V6 a 6 bay. Made by Efest. Best of luck to you!
MXJO is NOT a battery manufacture.

That's interesting to hear. I intake my information from 2 vape shop owners that are both extremely long members from the ECF with the highest honor from this site. I really do appreciate being corrected. I would never try to lead someone wrong. In the Piedmont/Triad area of NC, that is what every vape shop I know of is selling as their "premium" battery and both claim the MXJO is the best on the market. What do I know other than what they have told me and they have the nicest vape stores with the most customers and are both extremely knowledgeable. Sorry if I gave incorrect information. However, with all do respect, I never implicated the MXJO as a battery manufacturer. I don't know what the "haha" comment is for. I don't mind being corrected but I do mind being treated disrespectfully. I give you respect and only ask the same in return. Do unto others....

Vape shops sell any batteries to make money & if they suggest them batteries they are obviously not knowledgeable are they...

It's interesting, I got the sony largest capacity batteries and have a dual charger. I got them from IMR batteries, which to my understanding is one of the well-known suppliers that don't rewrap batteries. I bought 4 a year ago (they are all still fine, but I wasn't using them much). I bought 4 more since after reading about battery safety, I wanted to be able to charge then store, as it appears safest. This time, when reading their information it included that "these batteries should not be used for vaping" which I thought was interesting. Since they were the EXACT same battery from the same supplier, it looks like some suppliers have heard of battery issues and are adding that legal disclaimer.... I guess they don't want to get sued. They work fine, but I vape at highly low wattage and probably don't even need a two battery mod.... They never overheat, the first ones the wrapping has degraded *slightly* on the bottom (the slightest amount) so I am eyeing them carefully and mostly using them as backups, and I WISH I didn't have a spring loaded charger as those springs can be hard to manipulate though I am being much more careful than I was with batteries since reading on this site.

Not to hijack the thread, but wanted to mention.....

My first charger was a Nitecore 4 bay. Sleds were not really smooth and damaged a couple wraps, but what did I know then? So I picked up an Xtar VP4 and was surprised how much smoother the sleds were. I can't say all Nitecores have rough sleds or all Xtars are smooth, but I now know how smooth they can/should be now and will test them and return, if rough, in the future.

My charger is a Nitecore, 2 bay, and I *think* it's the newest generation, but I am extremely bad at holding on to packaging, so I can't say what model. I'd say my sleds aren't *rough* by any means and now that I've figured out how best to manipulate it, my new batteries are showing no degridation at all, and my old ones are for sure not worsening. I don't leave my batteries in once charged, so that may help with pressure issues, I think. It's not a terrible charger by any means, I just have to be super vigilant in how I use it (my early technique was to squish them in sideways, which I would NOT recommend, I just had no clue that Li Ion batteries were such delicate creatures.... I've been paying a LOT more attention to my charger of late, after hearing horror stories....

Maybe so, Skold, but since my husband set our house on fire last year, I don't want a repeat event. LOL, I'll probably be fine, but I also don't want my batteries to degrade, then I have to buy more. I think being vigilant is smart, although yes, most fires seem to be started by carlessness or *high watts* but the point is, the way I was inserting my batteries *was* being careless....

Well a couple of things. Nitecore and Xtar both make decent chargers. I use a Nitecore D4 and the spring loaded sled can be a little stiff, but so far no damage. For safety purposes I keep my charger on a nonflammable surface, and not the carpet or pile of papers while charging, and don't charge overnight.

The batteries we use are really not delicate. It's just that they were never designed for use by retail customers. That's why the Sony warning thing to cover their legal butts. Even LG now seems to be doing it. These were originally designed to be used in battery packs like for power tools and laptops, and now cars. The battery itself isn't an issue, the plastic wrap, if torn, may lead to an inadvertent short. As these are high current batteries that's not a positive outcome for the battery or user. Checking your wraps and rewrapping them yourself if there's any evidence of tearing is easy, takes all of 5 minutes, and keeps you safe. Other than that, don't throw them into the fireplace or oven or something and you are quite safe.

I trust stuff from the IMR, Illum crowd as they're well established battery vendors. Vape shops might very well be mislead by marketing from their own wholesalers and end up with something like an MXJO or Efest. Doesn't make the shop a menace to society, just that they can be mislead like anyone else. Besides, there are batteries from Efest like their 26650s that are recommended by Mooch. It's more in the 18650 crowd that second rate rewraps become more common.

For long term storage (like more than a month or something arbitrary like that) batteries are best stored with only a partial charge, usually ~3.5-3.6V. It improves shelf life, and why batteries from IMR and Illum usually arrive with a lower charge like that.
