got two orders from ebay for bats, one was 2- 14500 protected bats and charger
the other was for 4- 14500 protected bats.
Problem is the bats that came with the charger are shorter than the other bats I got
but they say "protected on the sides of them ?
How can they be shorter and be protected ? and the larger 14500's dont fit the charger .

I thought it was normal for different brands of protected LiIons to be different sizes. I know my trustfires are slightly shorter than some other random ebay ones I got, although both clearly have a PCB on them, and both cut out at 2.45 volts, and both have overcurrent protection, (don't ask how I know...).

Oh, and the trustfires are slightly narrower too...fit slightly better into an AA slot.

What are the brands of the batts? (Or maybe some pics?)

I tried to upload a photo and keeps on coming back as failed to upload ?
The smaller 14500 is "Ultrafire" and larger is "Trustfire".
I have the trustfire and ultrafire in 16340's and I see that the trustfires are a bit larger
but they still fit in my charger for them and also in my mod, but the 14500's are more than a
bit larger and wont work in charger or mod.

I see you got links.

Well FWIW TrustFires in general are a better choice than UltraFires.

Those are some odd colored TF's. I've used the Blues and Flames and the TFs always say 3.7V, not 3.6.

A great source for the Blues.

TrustFire Protected 3.7V 900mAh 14500 Lithium Battery (2-Pack)

Was also a good source for the TF 18650 flames, but the latest batches of them do not perform like in the past.

Then what about these ? TrustFire 14500 900mAh 3.6V Protected Li-ion Battery [TF14500BAT] - $4.29 :
