Hi All:

I got one of those nice MadVapes vv mods a few weeks ago. It's my first mod, and I'm quite pleased. But I'd like to get a second pair of batt's and was thinking about longer battery life.

The mod takes 14500 batt's (i.e. AA sized). Since I was thinking about greater batt life, I was considering a pair of 14650 batts as my second set. But I don't know if they are the same size and will fit. Any advice (about this question and/or recommendations) would be appreciated. Thanks

Best thing to do is write to MadVapes and ask them since they created the Mod. On these forums you will get many different responses that may or may not be correct and could end up wasting your money or be flat out be dangerous. Always ask the vendor first for there suggestions. Most will give you 1 or 2 options for batts and then tell you they are not responsible for damage done if you use any non-recommended hardware.

At least thats what I would do...

Ask and ye shall find. 99% of everything you need to know is somewhere on this forum. You need to go to alot of the threads, scroll and read.

Also this link, scroll down to battery specifications

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html

Click on forum, go to announcements and rules, which most people don't think they need to read and you will find a wealth of information on mods, exploding mods, batteries etc. beyond me why people don't go there first. Just sayin

While I'm at it, here's another critical link

Good point, Prometheus. I will run it by MadVapes. But I'm really just wondering whether 14650's are the same size as 14500's. Despite some searching, I haven't found a definative place for battery specs.

I got one of those nice MadVapes vv box mod last week. I was waiting for my multi meter to come in, which it did today. My batts are charging as we speak. I hope to play with it later.

Around OKC, OK
I don't see a problem with that batt's size. Actually, what about several in series? I'm thinking of a "wheelbarrow mod" - what do you think?

It looks big, but it's not really that bad. Not something you'd have to push around in a wheelbarrow anyway ;) It's like, 6" x 2" x fairly thin (don't remember exactly, 1/2" maybe). So while it's still fairly large, I don't think it's any worse than some of these that look like modified maglights. :) Should still be usable.

Ok, a 14500 is 14mm in diameter and 50mm long, a 14650 is 14mm in diameter and 65mm long. The first two digits are the diameter and the second two digits are the length, the zero at the end is a place holder for a XX.5mm length.

I thought the last digit was for form factor (0 being round)
