So I have quite a few 18650's and 18500 batteries and not all of them get used very often. I've read that storing batteries at 3.7 volts in the fridge is the way to go. But don't they lose charge over time? Wouldn't they eventually fall below the 3.7 volts and permanently damage the battery?

How about receiving new batteries from vendors? Do they receive them from the manufacturer and then charge them before selling them? How do the vendors store all of their batteries? When they send me a new battery, would I be better off leaving it as is, or should I charge them up and use them until the voltage is around 3.7? Are they in a dormant state when we receive the new batts from vendors? This is the part that I'm unsure about.

Thanks!

I have a revolving stock of 10 18650's that all I guess get used weekly.

I tend to have 2 18650 PV's with me most of the time and change out the battery's daily. They are taken out put in the charger.

I go to work and take out the freshly charged one's when i return that get placed in a large green plastic mug in no particular order....so on and so forth.

Been cycling through the same battery's doing the same thing for 4 months now without issue.

Do have some 18490 and 18350 options that get used from time to time and a few of the 4.8 volt battery's that all inhabit the same mug.

Haven't noticed any drop in use times. All stored fully charged.

I don't stack but that is not through any real preference just the PV's I use.
