hey forum! So Im wondering, whats the lowest safe resistance to use for the following batteries : 18650, 18350, 26650
Thanks forum!

Kinda Hard to Say.

Because each of the Battery Sizes that you listed comes in a Multitude of Constant Amp Ratings. And a Couple of Different Chemistries.

What type Mod were you going to use? Regulated or Unregulated?

Suggest you check you particular battery vendors spec sheet for maximum current output, the run Ohms law on your coil build. many builds push the max greatly, so you're on your own there.

This may help as well-- UL 1642. http://www.liwinon.com/uploadfile/UL 1642 Ed.5-2012.pdf

18650,18350, etc, refer to the size of the cell.
18650=18mm diameter, 650mm tall.
26650= 26mm diametr, 650mm tall.

Cells come on various specs, and battery chemistry for each of the sizes.
You would need to specify exactly what cell you are using for us to help with your question.

Lets say each one of you chooses your favorite brand of battery and gives the levels for it used in an unregulated device. I know the question was kinda vague and I apologize for that

To make it plain and simple

Mech 14XXX Series - 1.5ohms or abouts
Mech mod 18350, 18490, 18500 - Lowest safest resistance 0.8ish
Mech mod 18650 (Single and Dual Parallel) - 20amp CDR batteries (examples Sony VTC5, Samsung 25R or 30Q, LG HG2, HE2, HE4, etc) about 0.35 to 0.4ish, 30amp True CDR (Sony VTC3, LG HB2, HB4, HB6) 0.25ish
Mech Mod 26650 - Same as 18650 unless you spend the money are really good hard to find batteries, but for the MNKE Orange which is about 25 to 35amps TRUE CDR, about 0.2ish.

Single Battery Regulated variable wattage - 60 to 75watts only use Sony VTC3, VTC4, LG HB2, HB4, HB6 18650's
Single Battery Regulated variable wattage - Below 60watts any 20amp CDR 18650
Dual Battery Regulated variable wattage - Up to 100watts, any 20amp CDR 18650
Dual Battery Regulated variable wattage - Up to 120watts, Sony VTC4, Samsung 25R 18650's
Dual Battery Regulated variable wattage - Up to 200watts, Sony VTC3, VTC4, LG HB2, HB4, HB6
Triple Battery Regulated variable wattage - Up to 200watts, almost all 20amp CDR 18650s are safe.

For an Unregulated Device, I use...

18650: LG 18650HG2
18500: No Recommendation - There just aren't that many Choices that I know of.
18350: AW IMR 18350

What you Really need to do if you are going to use an Unregulated Device is to Know How to Calculate the Amps the Battery will be asked to provide based on the Resistance of your Build.

Then you take the Constant Discharge Rate (CDR) that the Battery is Rated for and subtract about 15% for some "Headroom". Than the you set the Lowest Resistance so it does Not Exceed the CDR for the Battery you are planning on using.

This site can Help.

For the record...

When someone comes here asking these questions as vaguely and nonchalantly as this...

They don't need information yet...

They DESPERATELY NEED guidance FIRST.

Get them started with something safe THEN barrage them with technical battery, electronics and mod information.

That way they can vape safely while it all sinks in.

This isn't an over night lesson. FAR FAR FROM IT.

Do a search for @Mooch here and dig up his rundowns on battery specifications, at least for the 18650's from various brands.

Google: Mooch Battery Chart. His findings on 18650s and other sizes are everywhere.

The OP may have sh$tz his pants and left the building after all these replies
Anybody know how many ohms a car battery can handle? Thinking of running wires through the firewall to my mod plug. batteries rated 175 cold cranking amps, do I have to deduct anything for when the coil heats up? I believe in safety margins :D
