Hello everyone, i didn't know where to put this so i just put it here, hope thats okay.
Been vaping for over a year now and I wanna move into the world of RBA's because buying new coils all the time is beginning to be expensive and also it sounds like fun making your own coils and stuff, so now i have a kayfun lite and all the gear i need to get into rebuilding on the way in the mail.

So i been reading up on battery safety and all that like everyone should and i just wanna know if i got it right or not so i don't blow my face up.

I go to "Steam Engine" under the "battery drain tap" to check that i'm not putting out more AMP on the coil that i build than the AMP limit i have on the MVP 2.0 battery, if i have a 1.8Ω coil and i run that on full (11W) then my current is 2.71A, and it says that my amp limit is 7.8A, so that should be no problem for it right?

I also go to Vape Ohms Law Calculator on Misthup and put in the numbers just to double check AMPS and then check again that it dont go over my AMP Limit.

That sounds right. With the 11 watt limit of an MVP your coil limit is going to be about 1.8 ohms. You might get a coil a little lower than that to fire but if you go too low the MVP built in protection will be constantly shutting it down. It's actually a good choice to start your coil building with an electronic APV like the MVP because of those built in protections.

Hi blabla and welcome to the forum!

+1 to what Rick said above. Yes, you'll be as safe as possible with that setup.

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!

Just build my first coil today, it came out as a 1.4 ohm and vaping it now on 6-8 watts, as far as i can see that goes out to a current of 2.07-2.39A and the battery on a MVP 2.0 has a amp limit of 3.5, so this should be fine right? Now i checked that if i go over to volts and put out 5V on a 1.4 ohm coil it puts out 3.57A and will go over my amp limit of 3.5, is it still safe to vape this? i read that the safety features will take over and fire it on lower settings for me?
I think im just gonna keep it at 6-8 watts to have it stay under the amp limit just to be safe.

Sorry if these are stupid questions, just trying to see if i got the research I've done is correct :)
Thanks in advance.

I believe when you're starting to get into rebuilding using a regulated device is definitely the safest way to go. Too often you will hear folks say you have to have a mech mod to use RBA'S/RDA'S. Had a young girl at a B&M that I frequent try to tell me that. I still go there but don't hang out too long if she's the only one there.

if you start on a mechanical you should definitely know about electricity and ohms law. My tip is, when you go to mechanical, at first calculate your amperage limit without an online plug in and play calculator so you can understand it better. and don't exceed your continuous amp limit. some people go straight into it and build .05 ohm coils on a 10 amp battery without knowing ohms law then blow their face off. so just be safe.

Yes you are safe because you are using an MVP and not a mechanical mod.
