I know this has all been said many times before. After today I just can't not say it again in good conscience.

One of my regular delivery guys (that I helped get into vaping) came in today with a horror story of how his "protected" battery had started arcing across the inside of his mech mod (nothing fancy just a 14500 mod running a 2ohm carto). He luckily caught it before it vented and he had gloves handy to remove it . He had told me it arced where the plastic casing had been damaged. I told him never to use a battery damaged in any way, ever. They are cheap enough there is no need to chance it. I commented that he was a lucky s.o.b and we parted ways.

I relay the story to another new vaper at work and he says "the plastic casing was damaged? you mean like this?" he pulled out his 18650 out of his lavatube and its missing nearly 1/8 of an inch of casing along the bottom.

I know alot of people don't think about how dangerous these batteries can be if the worst does happen to happen. If a battery is at all damaged please dispose of it. it is simply not worth it.
