Hello and welcome to the forum @dstewart. Glad to have you here!:)

Sigelei recommends 30A CDR batteries for their 150watt mod.

Edit: 20A or 30A batteries can be used in the IPV4

30A CDR is the highest amp battery available. Any battery labeled 35A, 38A, 40A, etc is labeled with the "pulse" not the continuous. From @Baditude's blog: Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised

Here are some options:
1. Orbtronic SX30 2100mah 30A
2. Sony VTC4 2100mah 30A (there are no new stock authentic VTC5's out there that I know of)
3. Xtar 2100mah 30A (re-wrapped Sony VTC4)

Edit: Added 20A batteries
1. AW 1600mah 24A
2. Orbtronic SX22 2000mah 22A
3. LG HE2 2500mah 20A
4. Samsung 25R 2500mah 20A
5. AW 2200mah 20A (new)

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Will those let me go to the 100 watt max of the ipv4 safely? I probably wouldn't vape at that wattage all the time just to try different builds when I get into building coils on a rda

Oops! I screwed up.:facepalm: I edited my post to give you information on the IPV4.

You can use 20A batteries if you are not going to be vaping at 100 watts all the time. Although they can be run at 100 watts safely it would be pushing the batteries pretty hard to run at 100 watts all the time. A great 20A battery is the Samsung 25R.

If you were going to be exceeding 75 watts consistently I would look at a 30A battery like the Sony VTC4.

I think when I get my order in I will just opt for the vtc4 just to be safe I have only been able to try sub ohm vaping on a buddies device but I really like it so I want to have options to go up in wattage if I want to, and the option to make some gnarly builds if i want to. thank you guys for your welcomes and suggestions! Can't wait to find a deal on a ipv4!

It is important to have batteries in the mod that have operated together and, therefore, in the same life condition. I have another dual 18650 mod and I bought three sets of batteries. That mod, I just got into the habit of charging it via USB. So, the other two pairs go to my IPV4. Each pair has a mark on it indicating who its partner is. So, I have one pair in the mod and a spare pair. I take the one pair out to charge and put the other pair in.

Hope helps.

Do Not go through e-cigarette lobby.com! I ordered a black ipv4 from them over a month ago now and it has been delayed repeatedly, they have the silver, black are harder to get anywhere, said p4you is delaying them. When I ordered it from their site it said they were in stock for petes sake and now I'm getting real close to trying to cancel my order. I'm dying to try the temp control, have nickel coils 2 feet away from me... there are a couple places that seem to have the black in stock, vape royalty I think is one, ppl are getting black ones... silver seems to be readily available.

Also make sure you get a batt charger and do not use the 9vlt charge port onboard and definitely don't try to charge thru usb port, take batts out to charge. Some ppl are recommending pulling out the onboard charger chip board due to malfunctions leading to meltdown.

Yea I had planned on doing this I think they call that marrying the batteries they always go together in the same device and always charge together. Right?

Wakeandvape.com has ipv4 for $65 with a free charger and mod sock with code JOEJOEIPV4 and they are the newer version without the mirrored display but with the current situation on my funds I won't be able to order until next Thursday also they have the atlantis v2 on sale for $20 so that's pretty awesome ipv4 and atlantis v2 for $85 then all you need is batteries and charger, really wish I could order now to take advantage of this deal... this is a steal

    I second that recommendation. I just finished testing the SX30 and it's a 23A or so battery.

    I am the same way. I have my sigelei 150w, 4 HE2 batteries, and 4 VTC4 batteries. Since the HE2 batts are red and the VTC4s are green, I just put a black mark(just a black dash above the writing on the cell) on two of each of them when I got them and called them a married pair. Makes it easy to differentiate between them. If I want to go high wattage, I toss in the VTC4s. If I want to sit around the 60-75w I have been enjoying, I will run the HE2 batteries.
