14500 which are slightly Larger then the AA due to the protection circuit.
Protected 14500 Battery, 900 mAH

Possibly have to shorten the spring and such but they do fit. When shortening the spring be sure to curl the end so it won`t damage the battery if you do.

This mod was finished using this idea and is a 5 Volt mod. You may be able to get an idea of the layout and regulator set-up here.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/53016-flashlight-mod-10.html#post1175648 Post 92 and the next couple down you get a wire diagram for a 3 pin regulator

2 14500 which will jump the volts to 7.4 Volts. So you will need to get a Voltage regulator to 5 Volts. Or a big spacer to stay at 3.7 Volts. :)

Hmmm, I wont have room for a regulator. Will the two AA (2 x 1.5v) work at 3v? I could use a low volt atty if nothing else, right?

If I can make this work, expecially at 3v, All you need is a 510 (or any) battery connector, a nail or something to fit down the center hole, and a washer. I had one (washer) lying around that almost fit, so I'm just doing a little filing, but there might be one at home depot that would fit off the shelf. And of course a Mini Maglite.

Might not be the best mod, but it could pull double duty because the atty can be swapped back and forth with the light assy. This one already had a clicky switch tail cap, so I'm sure one can get them for those minimags that don't have them.

Never tried it but heard it won`t last long till it sucks the batteries dry. Check that post I gave the link to because a regulator will fit in there. Or rig a spacer up to replace one battery.

You could read this post using regular batteries back a ways in time. But they mention 2 AA`s in post 4 I think it was.

Put 2 AA Battery in the search box in the bottom left of any forum page and you may find you answer or wait and someone may come by with it soon. I`ve never tried it myself..
