Actually, it does send out 6V - it is a 6V square wave. it is just done at a frequency or duty-cycle that, in effect, averages the voltage/wattage sent to the coil. Some devices, such as a Provari, have a higher frequency and additional circuitry that actually smooths out the square wave to an almost flat DC voltage. But yes, it is probably a coil issue.

This is definitely a coil issue, the Vamo is capable of sending much more current (5A) into the coil as opposed to the eGo (2A). The amount of current is why you are seeing the shorts show up more obviously on the Vamo. As the coil shorts, resistance drops and current spikes. The Vamo will send 2.5 times the amount of current in to the coil than the eGo is capable of, popping the coil.

And it does looks so, very much so... eGo can't power it properly tho. It won't really produce any vapor with wet wick :)
What would you say about using lower amp devices? I'm fairly sure that not all devices are rated at 5, evic comes in mind right now... wouldn't it ease genesis usage or should just try harder and get it working like this?
Or maybe chi chi mech mod, nice coop going on right now :)

This is what it look like before juice is on the wick...

Couldn't capture what it looks with juice, coil pops faster than my phone takes pics :)

Going by the picture, and its a bit hard to see, but it looks like the top wire is too tight around the post. There should be a small section of wire next to the post that doesn't glow. Trying loosening it a little - not too much though.

DiNet - if you don't have a digital multimeter buy one. Test your coils with it. And don't use an ego with RBA coils. You are running the risk of frying the battery and having an accident.

I've never tried the eVic, I think it's limited at about 2.5 amps though...
I would go for something a little more robust. A Vamo, ZMax, Provari, or even a cheepo Lavatube would be better.

With SS wicked devices, the mesh also seems to have much more of a heat sink effect then cotton or silica. It takes a couple of more watts to wake the coils up. There is a little lag when applying power to making vapor even with bigger mods. The Genesis is definitely a different vaping experience, once they are warmed up though, nothing else compares.
