To start off, I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I looked through the forums and could not find what seemed to be the appropriate spot for a post of this nature.

I have three VTC4's, they are brand new (less than two weeks old), however from popping them into my mod and into my external charger, there seems to be two ever so slightly small nicks on top of the battery wrap. I looked around to find out what is cause for a battery to be re-wrapped but everything I found was obviously cause to be re-done (major chips, etc).

I perhaps may be being overly cautious, but safety first.. right? Everything I've read says that even slight nicks are cause for changing battery wraps. My question is what exactly merits the need for a new battery wrap? This is the battery with the two slight nicks:

I usually wait till I see some silver showing through. Depending on mod but I would just put the nick towards the plastic on the battery sled where their is no chance to arch out on metal. Under the whole top pin their is a big white washer covering the whole top of the battery. Someday when you rewrap make sure you put big white plastic washer back in place. CHEERS!

Try pushing one end down when installing them into your mod from now on, but you got a way's to go before needing a new wrap.............

Thank you all for your time and helping me out, I wasn't entirely sure. I will most definitely push down one end of the battery from now on. If I see any metal exposed though, I will definitely re-wrap it.

I used nail polish to bond mine in the meantime. Since then, I ordered some wraps that should show up any day now. The quantity is more than I can possibly use; PM me.

Just saw the pic; you look good. Though, offer still stands.

I just bought three pre-cut wraps from Viper-Vape for the future, because I'm sure I'll need them eventually. Thank you for the offer though, sorry I didn't see this sooner.

Hey guys, hopefully someone sees this soon as I could really use the help.

I bought three LG HG2's, one of them has a small bump, under a mm or so on one side, but clearly a bump. Is this battery still safe to use? I know any scratches, dents, etc is cause for not using it, but what would cause a bump?

Possibly something stuck under the wrapper (possibility of arcing?) or the heat not being properly applied to the wrapper while they were made?

I simply need to know if I need to contact my vendor in order to get it replaced. Help would be much appreciated.

It's fine as long as the wrapper isn't torn.

There are no tears, only that bump. Was only unsure of if it was a semi-common thing when buying batteries and if it is uncommon; whether it is dangerous and cause for replacement. My battery knowledge is still relatively new so when I see things that are unordinary, can't help but be cautious.

Thank you for the replies, they are appreciated.

I agree with Bad Ninja and wouldn't worry about it :thumb:
