This is my first foray into the Battlefield series on Console. I played Battlefield Vietnam when it came out on PC in 2003- 2004. I had played COD on PS3. I was even in a Gamers Clan Playing COD, From WaW to MW2... I played Black-Ops... They were all basically the same. Unless you had a team to play with, there was absolutely no team play to be had! Everyone trying to improve their own stats and unlock their own stuff. You were screwed if you wanted help in trying to improve, unless you had a regular group of friends to team up with...

Battlefield 3 is both Visually and Audibly pleasing! The game mechanics are great. It takes some getting used to that's for sure. I played the BETA for a little but it wasn't enough to test it out as in the BETA, people were trying to discover flaws and/or glitches. However, the full release game is breathtaking. It's still a little hard to get teamed up with people as far as knowing whether you're going to get a team or a bunch of stat hounds, but that'll even out in time I think. I can see myself playing this game often and for hours at a time. At least till TES: Skyrim comes out, then I'll be on hiatus till the new year, I'm certain.

I'm BingHammy on PSN. Feel free to send me a friend request, I play at various hours so I'm up for a game or twenty at any time!

I tried battlefield 3 and didn't really like it.
I played numerous battlefield games with my favorite being BF2, but 3 just isn't what BF is to me. BF shouldn't be the call of duty contender (like many other games try to be) it should be something completely different, even their slogan (beyond the call) just insinuates that they are trying to be like COD, which they are not. EA has just slipped down the slope that tried to compete with COD when they need to stick to sports games and non - fps because their time as a tyrant has long been gone.

Sorry to hear you didn't care for it... bummer. As it's my real first foray into the BF series I am enjoying it. Compared to the COD series, I can say the sound and lighting are amazing. And it is a break from the same old stuff COD puts out game after game with simply a different title slapped on it. And I played the heck out of 4 COD titles, so that isn't being a fanboy by any means.

Did not get battlefield yet.
MW3 sucks, too much going on, too many openings, windows, plains, 5 choppers in the air. spawn right on and in-front the other team, total waste of time. I leveled up to 27 in less then 2 hours of play and then quit playing it. I did not buy it, I got it from Red-Box and i'm happy i didnt wasted $60 on it. Back to Black-Ops, lol

Im historically a Battlefield fan. 1942 was awesome; I had a clan for the multi player demo before the retail version came out. I still play Battlefield 2 weekly. I played Battlefield 3 on the PS3 at a friends house and beat the single player campaign in a day. I haven't played the multiplayer, but the single player was very COD. This is somewhat of an improvement though over single players of 1942 and BF2 :D If you haven't played those, single player is just multiplayer capture the flag maps with bots.

That's where BF3 wins. If there's a sniper in a building - blow a hole in it... If he's still there, knock it down.

BF3 has maps large enough to pilot a jet and dogfight or fly a chopper with a friend in the gunner's seat.... tanks, LAV's, buggies, hummers... No camping for killstreaks needed. They are all right there for your enjoyment.

BF3 has dedicated servers. No more lag from a crap connection, no more team advantage off a connection. Yeah, they had issues launch weekend having to take them down for patches. But they are nice now.

No javelin glitches, no rust maps, nuke boosting, care package, dog killstreak, etc, etc, etc......

However, the spawns are static in BF3 and easily learned, and the 4 man squad fails but is neccesary.

Yup, the leaderboards are full of boosters. I figure at least this way I don't work my way to the top to later see it get populated by hacks and knock me down 15 pages, but rather, some idiot and his buddies spent 3 days gametime doing nothing but getting killed and being revived.

I've had quite a learning curve with BF3... I have a great rig, play on ultra, I kicked some serious booty in BFBC2, and thought that I'd be pretty much as good in BF3. Not the case AT ALL. I love it, don't get me wrong, but its tougher. Hating Battlelog (I miss my in-game server browser!) is just icing on the cake.
