Hey guys...just got my first order of BB in and was wondering on the steep time and how the flavor changes over time. I've had BB before that was well steeped and it tasted like heaven, I would get a rich flavor of graham crackers/cocoa, etc.

Now with the fresh BB I just got ALL I taste is fresh raisin and I mean that's all I'm getting. Obviously I'm gonna steep it, but based on what I'm tasting now I don't see how I'll ever get that old taste of Bobas I had a few months ago.

Any thoughts?

Try turning the heat down and see if that changes the flavor.

Depends on the device and power you are using to vape it. Out of a RDA I did get that "raisin" flavor right away and it stayed that way for me for about 1.5 weeks. After that, my juice started to thicken up a tad and I got more of the other flavors. IMO the flavor is at it's peak at 2 weeks. I've never really had the same bottle of BB on hand for more than 3-4 weeks and it didnt change much from the 2 week mark.

I have a big order of BB this time so hopefully I'll find out what a 4-5 month BB tastes like :)

Thanks for the input guys.

I'm currently using an Evic with a low res drip atty, 1.5ohms vaping at 3.4 volts. I've fiddled a bit with the voltage but the smell from the bottle and the vapor is just straight fresh raisin, I'm not getting even a hint of anything else. Only thing left to do is load up a tank, but I think wanna let it steep a bit as I don't think its the method of delivery.

For those of you who have ordered BB more than once, have you noticed any change from batch to batch or has it been pretty consistent?

It can change a bit batch to batch, but I have never not been satisfied with the product. It will change with time either way. Mind you, you are not obliged to like bobas :) if you do not, sell it off and no harm done.

Well, I have had bobas before and freaking loved it...still haven't found anything that compares to those first vapes of it. That was months ago at my local B&M when they had a well steeped sample tank (the guy even dripped me a few drops from his personal stash) and it was amazing...graham crackery cocoaness.

What I have now doesn't have even a hint of what I tasted before...just sweet raisins. i dunno lol

Im experiencing the same phenomenon. I'm not getting the cocoa graham crackers taste and the smell isn't what I remember. Now the first time I bought bb, it was from a third party so I imagine it had a few weeks of steep time before it got to me, and after that I always ordered directly from AVE and would always re-order before my bottle ran dry. I'm hoping that means that with more steeping time, it'll get back to the bobas I remember and love.

I thought it was me but all I'm getting is a honey tobacco taste?

Yea, I hope so too...good to know at least I'm not the only one experiencing this.

I wish juices came pre-steeped, just ordered grants vanilla custard and I like how it says it comes pre-steeped. Just a general observation, not specifically about AVE but I just wonder why companies wouldn't do this more often. If you've got a signature flavor that people love and order, why would you not make big batches and only sell when its steeped a bit...I wouldn't want people tasting my creation before it was "ready", plus it would be a good bit of marketing/differentiation.

Hey, I've waited months in order to get my hands on some Boba's (quite literally, as every time I've had the chance to order, capacity was reached before I could complete the checkout process). A couple weeks of steeping will not hurt me in the slightest. I'll just salivate quietly waiting for my first taste.

Wanted some GJ too, but with all the hubbub lately, I didn't take any more time than necessary today to get my BB, and get out while the gettin' was good, LOL!!!

I have this same issue, but it's with the batch I received just prior to the long-term shutdown. I assumed it had to do with the Flavor Bump I got it with, but now I'm not so sure. Even with 3 months of steeping, all I taste in both the GJ and BB is raisin, maybe honey too. Though every now and then it tastes kinda like the bottom dregs of a Bojangles Sweet Tea urn.

hmm...this is interesting. I'm getting together with a friend tomorrow who just got his order in a few days after mine and he says his batch has the cocoa/graham thing happening. If his tastes dramatically different than mine then I'm gonna try email Ben to see what he thinks.

Will keep you guys posted.

Both my new bobas and my GJ have a very "vinegar" taste to them. for the bb that's all I taste. Tried a host of wattages/atomizers and it doesn't change. GJ has a similar overwhelming flavor, but with a hint of banana. I get none of the tasty graham/cocoa flavor. I'm attempting to let them steep, but I've never needed to before. Guess it isn't just me. I was thinking of emailing ave support about it, it was a very expensive order! Anyhow, that's my 2 cents on the new batch of ave staples. Just hoping that they steep up and get better.

I'm not sure what's changed, but I just got back to my house and found that I had left the big bottle's cap off. The smell of that bottle was significantly different than the 10 mils or so in my pocket bottle which had been filled from the big one about 3 days ago. I put the cap on and shook it, and it seems to have gone back towards the funky smell, but more muted than before. Gonna let it air out another few days then compare it to the little bottle. Still tastes good, just not quite spot on.
