Cool, holt. What genre did you have? I'm assuming it's a 60/90 IPA?
Nice to hear. It can creep up on you very fast. lol enjoy, my friend. Back to the poker tables for me. I'm 4/5 in tournaments tonight.
Outside of Asheville, NC so I kinda stick local. I'm a fan of Greenman, different varieties. Dark and somber, my style. I'll try anything once.

I know Asheville, N.C., very well. Greenman is awesome. I unfortunately, recently (lol), decided to finish a 5 bar tour with their Destroyer (double IPA).
Greenman has several different IPA's that are awesome. Here's a couple pic's from our adventure.
If you haven't tried Burial, a block away, you have to try it out. It's awesome.

MY PEOPLE! My heat is currently out, which is lucky, because I'm out of room in my aging cooler/faux cellar. Yesterday's trip to scrounge up some Bourbon County was a good one! Picked up a 4-pack, plus two of Founders newest Backstage Series (Big Lushious), a Three Floyds Alpha Klaus (forgot it was even that time of year for a second) and a Sierra Nevada Barrel Aged Narwhal (!!!). Celebrated the day with a BCBS at a local taproom, followed by the first Big Lushious I picked up earlier in the week.
You may get the impression that I'm into big stouts. You'd be right. Then again, I like everything that isn't pumpkin, pretty much. Keep your nutmeg out of everything, heathens.

trying a couple of new beers tonight from Dominion Brewery, another local. first, Candi Belgian Tripel: really nice. it's brewed with Vienna Wheat Malts, Saaz and Hallertau Hops, and Belgium Candi Sugar. it comes in at 10% ABV. really nice.
I also got some of their Oak Barrel Stout. haven't tried it yet, but this is how they describe it: Oak Barrel Stout raises the bar for American Sweet Stouts. Our method of infusing vanilla beans and oak chips during conditioning results in an unparalleled, smooth and roasty stout.
Wheat, Smoked, Dark Specialty Malts
Mt. Hood Hops
Dry Hopped with vanilla beans and oak chips

The local drug store by my house has a pretty impressive craft beer selection and do tastings one Friday every month. It's like a CVS with a craft beer store inside.
Anyways, their beer this month was from Right Brain Brewery out of Traverse City Michigan. They had some pretty tasty stuff but I ended up with this Naughty Girl Stout which tastes like delicious mint chocolate.
The appearance is a Black body with a nice, thick head. The smell is of roasted malt, a bit of chocolate and a lot of mint. The taste is still very minty with a lot of chocolate and roasted malt as well. Very nice flavor in this medium bodied stout. ABV is 6.3%.
I also got a free hat out of the deal just from buying the bottle.

Never been a big beer guy, but when I drink beer it is craft beer. When I was in Florida I lived between Cigar City Brewing and Orange Blossom Pilsner. OBP seems to get a bad rap but I actually liked it, but then I'm a sucker for honey beers. CCB offers a staggering range of brews and most of the grocery stores had a "Pick-a-Pack" wall where you could pick any six beers. So I tried a huge range in the nearly five years I lived there.
What I really enjoy is good craft cider. Stonewell is pretty good. Stella actually makes a great cider, cost almost $8 a four pack though. Cigar City Cider & Mead (part of Cigar City Brewing) makes some very good ciders as well.

I was loving the "Monkey Chased the Weasel" by Carton Brewing Co. out of NJ. Described as a "sour-sour" Berliner Weissbier. It was a really good brew once you got over the initial shock. The end of the glass had a very distinct tobacco-ish aroma. I enjoyed it enough to polish off 3 glasses. I haven't decided what to start off with yet tonight.

I am usually not into bear, that is to say that I don't like it ( I know sounds strange), but anyway a few months back a friend of mine who is really huge beer fan ( he makes in his home at least 4 different types of beer) gave me a 3 bottles of a dark Spanish beer- Estrella Inedit. I had my doubts about it, but it turned out, that it was really good (doh) , so now I am going to an adventure and trying to see what will I like , since I hadn't tried anything else yet.
WickedSick, think about what other types of drink you like. Based off of that you can at least get a starting point on beers to try.
If you like wines, there are several types of beer that is brewed with grape must (DFH Sixty-One) or aged in wine barrels (Bitter Monk, several from Russian River Brewing and Deschutes, Stille Nacht Reserva)
If you like bourbon, there are also bourbon barrel aged beers (Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt, Saison de Banc Vert, Barrel Aged Savannah Brown Ale)
Honey? Well there are meads and honey lager. I like OBP (I know, I'm weird), but Xenu Honey Cream Lager from Cigar City Brewing is by *FAR* the best honey lager I have ever had.
Cider is the new thing kicking off these last few years. Good for me since I've been drinking them for nearly 20 years so I have a lot more choice. Crispin is a crafty cider that is pretty good and fairly easy to find. Two Rivers and Two Towns Ciderhouse both make some great ciders if you can find them.

Side note, anyone in Florida try to make a trip to Tampa and visit Cigar City Brewing. They are a great craft beer and cider brewer. When I lived just down the road from them I tried almost everything they make and at worst just liked it.

InfinityzeN , thanks ! It sounds lame , to say it in the age of Google, but this info opens new horizons. I had never before thought about beer in this way. ( I will definitely go after the Bourbon barrel aged beers )
Google is only good if you have some idea of what your looking for. Having other people give you ideas first is where Google shines. So now you know about them and are interested, you should have no problem finding them.
Learning to homebrew. Starting with a blonde ale.

I like beer. I drink Busch because that's all my boyfriend can handle. I like imports, dark lagers, and Natty Ice because it has a high %alc./vol.
