First and foremost Hello To All. I am so very glad that I found this place. It is so amazing to find all this information in one place where a rookie like me can find help from veterans. Thanks so much!

So I am pretty new to all this having only been vaping since December 2014 and have been able to get off cigs completely!!!!! I started with the typically eGo pen style battery and very simple tank but found that I needed something more. With that being said I am now using the iStick 50w with a Subtank Mini and the .5ohm OCC coil that came with...... I think I said that right LOL!

Everything seemed amazing upon getting the tank primed and started vaping with an amazing taste and good clouds, but I have to admit I am not a cloud chaser by any stretch of the imagination. I just want great taste. I am using it on the wide open air flow and anywhere between 18 to 19w. And the juice is a 50/50.

However, after about a week of this I noticed that my juice is being used quickly. I mean like fill it up two times a day quickly and I am not chain vaping. Heck I don't even vape that much when I am at work.

So I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what I am doing wrong, if anything and what I could do to make my juice last longer? Again thanks for any help.:)

Thanks. Also just wondering what difference it would make if I switched coils? I don't quite understand coils in general so definitely going to just stick with buying the premade OCC ones from my local ecig shop.

But would there be a big difference in the .5 and 1.2 that came with the mini? Also how do I know when the coil needs to be changed or if it gets gunked up so that I can clean or change it, whatever option is best?

Hello & welcome to ECF Copchic, make yourself right at home :)
I don't know anything about SubOhm but yes, changing to a higher resistance coil will change your vape. Most coils can be cleaned, like I said though, don't know a thing about those kind :?:

You'll know when you need to change/or clean because the vapor will be reduced and/or the taste will change. Good luck and enjoy!!

You can try using the 1.2Ω coils, cutting down the wattage and air flow a bit. The clouds will be a bit smaller and it should use up your eliquid a bit slower. The bigger the clouds the more eliquid used....it's what makes the cloud...:)

Most important is to find the settings you like the best....and keeps you off the smokes. As you read around on ECF you'll see there is a wide range of vaper's likes and dislikes. They are all correct, just different personal preferences...(like some flavors that are raved about, can't see ever trying a single puff myself...)

on a regulated device, the coil resistance shouldn't matter as long as the watts are the same. Your regulated mod should figure out on its own to supply less volts with the lower ohm coil to achieve the desired watts. And more volts with the higher ohm. I don't think it will make a difference unless the watts are turned down.

How many ml does a mini hold? 3ml? Filling this up two times for a full day does not seem strange at all to me.

Welcome, CopChic! I use a similar setup, and find that I go through less juice with the 1.2 coil. With the 1.2, I vape at 12-16 watts, depending on the juice; with the .5, I'm between 18-20 watts. Also, more air seems to reduce juice consumption (and results in a cooler, airier vape). The mini holds about 4ml of juice, BTW. But after all is said and done, I echo a previous poster: vape so it tastes good and alleviates analog cravings! Best of luck to you!
