I was looking at the last pic counted 16 wraps on that one. With regulated mods try and aim for 1.0- 1.2 ohm coils and use your wattage it should help bring those coils up to temp faster On my SVD the 1.0 1.5 ohm range runs well in the 12 -15 w range

I use a Reo now, and I have a mech for my gennys. I sold my Provari. Much much easier to build on a mech than a regulated because theres no protection hindering you from pulsing out the shorts

Absolutely I understand that well having the SVD and VTR. I bought a panzer and that's my get a coil to the sweet spot mod. I m doing pretty well with the hana clone also for getting coils where they should be. IMO getting a coil to fire properly is most of the fun in the build for me.

I know some folks swear by mesh, while others cotton. I have 2 G-Styles, and on the few occasions I've built them I always used cotton and braided microcoils to meh results.

Yesterday, I finally decided to roll up the orphan SS mesh pieces that came gratis with my AGA-TD, and give SS mesh a real shot. I installed the fully-oxidized wick on my RSST (which had been collecting dust) on my Hana V3 Mini. Just a simple, loose 5/4 hand wrap with 27ga Temco Kanthal A1, no microcoil on this one.

Wow. Blew me away. SS mesh buries cotton tenfold. It's as if I've JUST tasted TVC Pina Guavada for real, for the first time. It opened up a whole new dimension of sweetness and crisp fruit notes that were hidden by cotton and silica. Not sure if it's related to the fruit, the acid, or if this will translate to all other juice styles but man......

Now I must swear by SS mesh. So impressed I can't wait to get some real mesh and do some more builds. Now I need a Z-Atty U.

Many thanks, I very much appreciate the compliment. I am a very amateur photographer, only as a hobby. But I do not like to take shoddy quality pics and these are inferior, yet amazing considering I was holding my gripped D90 freehand. In my little product shot studio in my house, the quality turns out much better, now if only I had a "creative eye" and not this analytical brain...lol

You are correct, it is stainless steel cable.

The top of the ekowool covered SS cable was actually touching the center post when I was typing in this thread earlier. I just pried it back away from that center-pin and it is hitting much better, but still has some metallic flavor that is burning my throat!

Yes the cable was torched and the ekowool was torched to prevent fraying.

I changed liquid this morning and dry-hit the ekowool to remove the previous flavor from it. I noticed then (plus the metallic flavor has been present since then) that the ONLY the section of wire from the center pin to the ekowool was getting bright red?

I appreciate any/all help you can provide, as I am still very very ignorant regarding this portion of the hobby, but I learn quick and never forget!

THE CLEAN PIECE IN THIS PIC:

I switched to the ss rope with silica sleeve in my rsst and works awesome. 3 wraps of 28 guage at 0.8.

A Z-Atty? Wait untill you taste the real good ones...Satburn, doodlebug, hellfires,...so many great gennies. In the beginning of this thread someone said I cant believe people still use gennies. Once you have experienced a good setup mesh atomiser with a reduced cap, you have to agree nothing can touch that kind of flavour
